Opera 12, build 1438: flash player sometimes not displaying in rss articles
I don't know how to document this, because if I give the Web address of the article the flash displays fine there, but some rss articles come through with an inert black rectangle where the flash player should be. I had the same problem with Opera 11.One difference is that I'm now getting queries on whether flash should be allowed access. Bringing up the flash settings dialog shows the settings about where they should be, so I guess they're sticking, despite not being able to shut down O 12 cleanly on Win7/32. It hangs in task manager and must be manually nuked.
O 12.14 on Win7/32bit
I have the same problem (I think): only a black rectangle with no play or pause buttons at all where there should be a YouTube video offered for play within the body of an RSS. The link to the full article displays the web site with the You Tube display embedded and it plays fine. I have had the same problem since at least Opera 11.6 on a Windows XP computer.
I would love to know what the problem is, or if I am doing something wrong. I have not found any answers yet on the forums.
Thanks

Opera 11.somethingwas running flash player just fine, then I updated to 12 and now it says it's not even installed. I installed it twice, yet every time I go to a flash based site it tells me I don't have it installed. Halp?
I can confirm black rectangles when viewing RSS-Feeds, but i think i saw such issues also in 11.64. I didn't bother me as i simply open up the site related to that feed.

Is Schockwave Flash listed here opera:plugins? If not maybe simply try to install.
Use your Opera to go to http://www.adobe.com/go/getflashplayer (so you will get the Flash-Plugin for Opera), download Flash and install it (maybe while Opera is not running). Try again.
Here you can test if Flash is running and you also see which version is in use.

It looks like there are a few users experiencing the same persistent problems through a few versions of Opera. Perhaps this thread is in the wrong forum. Perhaps it should be moved to the general Opera forum and removed from the Beta testing forum. Does anyone here know how to do that? Maybe we'd have better luck finding a solution. Any thoughts?
