Typical turnaround times for account deletion request / what happens to the posts and comments
I have submitted (a couple) of myOpera account deletion requests, however it has been several days now and they have yet to be fulfilled. How long does it typically take Opera to fulfill the request? Will they email the end user when requested to let them know that the request has been processed?
What happens to all the comment and forum posts of that user? Are they deleted or do they remain with the account name removed?
A privacy conscious company such as Opera should give end users the ability to delete their own accounts and choose which associated data to remove as well

While your account is still open, it is possible to delete your own forums posts, except those that start a thread. Anything that you post on a forum is no longer your private data. Read the Terms. You can delete personal data in your account, blog posts, phots, etc., but you cannot remove the account itself.
Opera reserves the right to remove User Generated Content for any reason, but Opera is not responsible for any failure or delay in removing such material.

Another bitter lesson to read the F****** Terms carefully. You are not different from other IT lousy corporates of the world.
How come, you may "remove User Generated Content for any reason" in a snap I presume (I'm sure!), but we ___must___ wait indefinitely for your gracious attention?

OK.
I used your My Opera Hell's Gate
http://my.opera.com/community/contact/myopera/?selected=delete
to ask for the removals as forum accepts only forum's logins, not from accounts.
Thanks in advance.

You can edit all your posts unless there is some sort of a time-out with them on other people's blogs. If you can't delete your thread starter on the thread you can certainly do so in your blog "Archive".
You might want to consider the effect that your removing posts from someone else's threads will have on those threads.
(It would be nice if they could be retained instead of being automatically deleted when the user is removed. Maybe the poster's name might be removed.) What I have learned from having such a thing happen to my blog is to remember to quote the part of the post relevant to my reply.
Perhaps that might be a notice given to all members from time to time:
"Consider how your threads are going to look if a poster leaves and shape your comments accordingly."
Or something to that effect.
