Opera Mini's DNS caching issue

Hello,

I'm the owner of the sites fusionbd.com ayon.biz and frendz.org but sometimes me and my visitors can't access these sites using opera mini and sometimes can access. My sites are working fine all other browsers except Opera Mini. In Opera Mini we are getting 403 forbidden error in these sites instead of desired contents. I thought it's a server issue and changed the server but still having same problem on new server. After discussing with server admins they replied me that there's nothing wrong on the server, Opera Mini itself is showing the old cached version of my site instead of current one and they suggested me to contact with opera.

I had this 403 forbidden error on my site about 2 weeks ago, I guess Opera Mini server cached that page and still showing that error page to me and my visitors. Please note that error doesn't appear all the time. You need to restart the Opera Mini browser 4-5 times and browse my sites to see the error.

I myself tested the sites using four different handsets and different versions of Opera Mini but getting same error in all phones and all versions of Opera Mini. I even tried by clearing cookie and history but still no luck.

My sites are designed targeting mobile devices and 90% of my visitors are using Opera Mini to browse my sites. So it has become a serious threat to my sites. Please take steps to remove cached pages of my sites fusionbd.com ayon.biz and frendz.org.

Waiting to hear from you.

Thanks and regards,
Saif

Things that I have already done:

* In last 3 weeks I contacted Opera Mini 3 times using bug reporting link but still no response.
* I have changed my server 2 times in last 3 weeks to be sure that it's not a server issue.
* I myself tested my sites using four different handsets and four different versions of Opera Mini (4, 5, 6 & 7) same problem in all versions even all my visitors are are facing same problems.

I badly in need of a sysamin to review the problems I posted here.

There is no need to report the same issue lots of times, just do it once and wait. As you can read when reporting the problem you will get no response unless some more information is needed.

I don't know what the problem could be but it does not seems to be a dns one as the server answers with a 403.

Btw: ayon.biz seems to be working here. The other 2 are showing the 403 Forbidden message.

Thanks for the replies.

I had this 403 forbidden error on my site about 3 weeks ago. I guess Opera Mini cached that error page and still showing instead of current one.

As I already said the error doesn't appear all the time. Sometimes it's showing old cached error page of my previous server and sometimes showing current one.
Try to browse the domains fusionbd.com ayon.biz and frendz.org by restarting Opera Mini browser 4-5 times, you will see the error for sure.

Yes we are aware of this issue. The problem is with recursor cache. We are working on solving the issue.

Thanks for the reports.

DNS servers are
not required to support
recursive queries and as it was mentioned that could be the problem. On the other hand an response can be cached up to 68 years and that's the good news. smile

Day by day I'm losing my visitors. We suggest our visitors to use Opera Mini. Is it our fault?? If not, why we are suffering for this?

@shayonbd: I sent you a friend request, so we can talk directly. I'm with the Mini team, and we're trying to get to the bottom of this issue. Sorry it's taken so long to respond, but we've been having a hard time reproducing it in a controlled way. Maybe you can help us out?

turn off proxy in internet settings of your mobile phone. just delete proxy that your operator put there, and connect to the Internet directly.

@mobikru: Which DNS entries are you having problems with? You mention mobik.ru. It's currently resolving to 95.211.148.49. Is this wrong? Are there other entries under mobik.ru that are wrong?

Check now for my DNS mobik.ru. should be - 95.211.148.49
and check the domain lod.films.mobik.ru - u should be 50.7.220.58

FYI, those seem to be wrong. Using a desktop browser:
95.211.148.49 takes me to http://icq.mobik.ru/ not http://mobik.ru Is that the intended behaviour?
50.7.220.58 takes me to a custom 404 page with the text "This address wrong! Check spelling."
