[Windows 8] Default Browser

Hello dev team!

I've been running Windows 8 Consumer Preview for quite a while and obviously used Opera as my main browser.
This weekend I reinstalled my machine with the Release Previeuw and installed Opera again.

Sadly it is not possible with v11.64 to keep it as my default browser, it doesn't show up in 'Set Default Programs'.
It would be great if this could be fixed ( if Microsoft allows this offcourse, but they would be stupid not to allow this for the Desktop ).

With great admiration

Windows 8 Release Preview 32-bit here.
I am using Opera 12 snapshots and I do see Opera Next web browser under Set Default Programs.
Windows 7 SP1 x86 edition and Windows XP Service Pack 3.
If you need any help from me with regards to Opera, please make a comment on any of my blog posts.

Aha, just to clarify: I'm using 64bit.

Could be they fixed it in the v12 and they just didn't bring a new update of 11.6X.
Hopefully that will be fixed soon.

Swapnil, there is no problem for you to set Opera as default handler for http etc?

You can try it and see, the latest snapshot is available here. Possibly they've already fixed this. Since 8 is still a preview, no surprise that it doesn't work right with 11.6x.

Hmm ... under the circumstances, moved to Beta testing.

I've installed Opera 12 1450 x64 on Win8 x64 and I can set it as default. Windows already ask it after installing.
