subscription options for the forum

is there a subscription option here (like every other forum on the web) to allow instant/daily/weekly notifications to my email account?
I don't want to get 30 emails per day all from the same forum that I've subscribed to!

Actually, subscriptions are first unread post. That is, if 5 people respond to a thread/blog post/photo you're subscribed to, you will only be notified of the first response until you read the responses. Of course if you're subscribed to 30 different items then you might get 30 posts, and once you do read the responses you can be notified again.

How you are notified is up to you. You can get notified by email, or you can just look for the "News" icon in the navigation bar (obviously you won't see it now, when it is there it will be between the Friends icon and the Messages/Mail icon). If you go to the Subscriptions link at the top of every forum page or from your Account page there will be a button to start or stop email notifications (whichever is appropriate to your current state). The Subscriptions link in the forum lists all your subscribed forum topics, the Subscriptions link in your Account page lists subscribed blogs and photos.

My subscriptions here seem to be all posts, not first unread.
