Attach an existing email to opera email

Hi,

Is there a way to attach an email downloaded by the opera browser email client, to another message composed in it? If not, are there plans to enable this functionality?

Thanks,
ds

Please flesh out what you want to accomplish.

Do you need the entire email, header included?

Or just use AOL, it's had a facelift.

HI jbrothernew37,

I want to stop using MS Outlook and use opera. As a result, I found this "gap" while trying to do the following:

In Outlook, I could drag a previously downloaded attachment and drop it into the email being composed and it would be sent as an attachment. "Drag and Drop" may sound fancy, but any other method of attaching an existing email will be great as well. The receiver should be able to open the attachment as probably "some open email standard file" if one exists, else at least attach the email as an HTML formatted file.

Thanks,
ds

I'm not overly familiar with Operamail but in yahoo mail I can forward an email to myself, copy the entire thing, headers and all, then send that to anybody. It looks like the below. Unfortunately, it doesn't involve an attachment.

I know. Believe me I know the irony and it SUCKS. I did pay into the system though for 35 years so I want my fXXXing money! Maybe I'll bring my napalm gun to the SS office to speed things up a bit. God, I love that thing...

Typical Republican. Screams about government waste and the nanny state, then cashes in.

Hell, you've lived with mental issues for decades (and I don't mean Margaret), so I'm sure you can forgo Prozac until the SS kicks in.

That's life in the big city ensbb3. Don't fret, you might just cash in...unless Republicans take over the roost.

That's not happy news. I'll have to weather the storm of a republican or two for sure. I don't need another private account that only grows with a Democrat in office. I won't be at the current retirement age in 2035. So prolly I'll get to wait longer for less money.

Beside the point, since 0xds is talking about an e-mail client rather than an e-mail service. But your experience with an e-mail service is typical, and the same technique is what is required by the Opera e-mail client: Forwarding the e-mail opens the Compose window with the selected e-mail (to be forwarded) –including attachments– in the body of the new e-mail.

I'm continually amazed by how many people still don't use e-mail clients (specific software to manage e-mail accounts from their own computers)… I suspect early experiences with Outlook Express to be a major factor; if I remember correctly, I put up with it for three or four days! But many still find it usable.
The Netscape browser used to provide e-mail client services (that would now, of course, include AOL, which bought Netscape) and there are some add-ons for Firefox. And Macs have Mail, a stand-alone program. The venerable Eudora is still available, but is no longer supported.
The built-in client in the Opera browser works for me, with a dozen different e-mail services (POP and IMAP); and the consistency its interface provides is (for me) well worth the occasional lack of support for some services' bells and whistles.

I can't imagine having to actually visit a web site to see if I have e-mail…
