opera and ibus and scimHi
I use Gentoo and I recently installed the latest (gentoo's) stable opera version which is 12.00 build 1467.
Quite a long time ago (a year I think) I had strange a strange problem that opera "lost" the keyboard focus once I left the workspace I had opera running. When I got back I had to click on any input field (address bar, search bar or any input field inside a page) to regain the keyboard focus. I use Fluxbox and have at least 10 Workspaces and I change very often my workspace so it was a bit annoying every time to get the mouse, click on an input field and press Ctrl+t to get a new tab.
At that time I asked this question here im forum (I cannot find the thread) and someone aksed me if I was using scim and suggested me to switch to ibus instead. Which I did and after that I haven't had the "lose of focus"-problem anymore. That was in a Debian machine.
Now I've installe @home the latest opera version and here I have been using scim for quite a long time now. The issue with the lose of focus was never present until now. So I installed ibus and set it as my default QT_IM_MODULE=ibus. The problem was fixed and I was happy.
But there is something else I have in both systems (on the debian and the gentoo systems). My mother language is Spanish and I have to write á, í, ó, etc. On my X11 config I have deadkeys enabled so I type those letters pressing ´-key once and then a to get an á. This works in any GTK+ based and also in any QT based application. But in Opera the ´-key seems to be really dead (same for the ^- and °- keys), no matter how many times I press on that key, nothing happens, so I cannot type á, í, ó, etc. at all (I have to copy & paste them from another application).
I realized that this only happens when I have ibus activated. If I restart Fluxbox and set scim als default IM_MODULE then I have no problem with the á, í, ó. If I don't use any IM_MODULE then this works too. Only when I use ibus I get the problem.
This is quite unsatisfactory because by changing to ibus I fixed the problem with the lose of keyboard focus but gained a new one with á. If I want á then I have to either user scim (and have the annoying lose of focus problem) or use no IM_MODULE.
Can anyone confirm this behaviour? Could this be a bug? And if so where is the bug? In ibus or Opera?
