My Opera seems not to save mail account settingsHi all,
let me apologise upfront if this has been discussed, but I was not able to find my issue. So here goes:
I use "My Opera" at work to keep track of my private mail accounts during the day. So I added all my accounts 2 or 3 months ago. This all works under the main link "https://mail.opera.com/m/#!/Inbox".
Recently I changed the password for one of my accounts and I wanted to update the password within My Opera. I clicked "Settings/Accounts/Update password" changed password and clicked "Save Changes". when trying to check emails an error message would finally appear in the Opera Mail in-box stating the inability to retrieve emails from this account.
I though I delete the account and re-enter account data from scratch. Same approach as above but using the "Add Account" section. All works smoothly, i.e. Opera checking settings, confirming it's working and adding the account to the list. When exiting using "Save Changes" to my surprise no mail is fetched, i.e. nothing is happening. Re-entering the Settings/Account page shows no sign of my previously entered account data. All Gone.
Here is some additional info:
- I tried two different computers (home and work)
- I tried 4 different browsers (Firefox, Chrome, IE, Opera)
- The account I am trying to add is a local German provider (Hetzner) that uses mail.your-server.de for both POP and SMTP access
Am I missing something? Is there a limit on the number of accounts, as I have currently 6 accounts added including Opera itself?
Any information regarding this issues greatly appreciated.
29.06.: Also "Make default" under "Settings/Account" does not work. Links for all accounts point to "https://mail.opera.com/m/#".
29.06.: Another interesting update ... I successfully added my Vodafone.de email account. Problem seems to be specific to my provider account (Hetzner.de). I'll keep trying.
29.06.: Now it gets interesting. I managed to successfully add my Provider email Account. BUT: I did not use security settings for which my provider uses different servers, i.e. I now use port 110 and 25 for POP and SMTP respectively.
It remains open why Opera does not store the account settings when using SSL connectivity and the other server
