Getting constant crashing

So after the latest update to Opera (I have no idea what exact numbers but it was the last update to Opera so I assume it's also the latest) my browser keeps crashing whatever I do. Watching a youtube video, clicking a link, sometimes it just crashes for no reason, and when it does it doesn't respond to any commands and takes 5 minutes before it gives any response whatsoever. I can't even close the the window so I have to go CTRL+ALT+DEL and remove it from the processes, every time!
This is very annoying, seeing as this problem was not here in prior versions of Opera, so something is awry with the new update. Only once have I had the ability to send a crash log or something of the sort.

I tried searching the forums for "crash", just the word, and found a topic where the user described JUST what I am experiencing, but that thread was locked and never responded to, so no answer was given.

I am sitting on chrome right now JUST to make sure it doesn't crash while I'm writing this post.

Does ANYONE know what's wrong or do I just have to wait untill a new update comes out and it's fixed? It's incredibly annoying to have this problem.

Thank you.

You could try to reset Opera to factory default settings and if that doesn't helps a clean install.

Try to reset Opera to the factory default settings by renaming operaprefs.ini and a restart of Opera. Opera should then create a new operaprefs.ini with default settings. If that doesn't work you can replace that file with the old one.

The operaprefs.ini is typical here:
C:\Users\yourusername\AppData\Roaming\Opera\Opera\operaprefs.ini

Check opera:about for the exact path on your system.

You could try a clean install.
1. Backup all your needed stuff.
How do I back up my Opera files?
opera:about - Here you can see which paths your current install of Opera uses.
2. Uninstall Opera
3. Delete all files the uninstaller might left. Check the paths Opera had used (opera:about).
Typical paths would be:
C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Opera
C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Opera
C:\Program Files (x86)\Opera
4. You could also run CCleaner to clean your registry.
5. Download the latest Opera installer and install it.
6. Integrate your backup by copying the files/folders from your backup in your current install.
Opera 12.15 Build 1748 (64-Bit)
Latest Opera-Snapshot

Windows Vista SP2
