You can't delete the first post in a thread, since that would delete the entire thread (only moderators can delete threads). If you make another post into this thread, you should be able to delete that one ...

Just curious how long I can edit a post without "(edited)" showing up in the post title bar.
Answer: 5 minutes. Fair enough....
