Restore missing search button in Opera 12?

Upon testing Opera 12 some more, I noticed that the search button is missing from the search field. Is there a way to return this button? I tried looking for a preference and forum post, but to no avail.

Here is a screenshot from 11.52 revealing the button in question.

Do you need it visually? Strangely enough, if you click in the area where this go button used to be (far right corner of the search field), you get the "enter" action you're probably missing here. Try it: type in some keywords and click in the far right corner.

Yes, I need an actual button there. As for the "ghost" button, it works for me to. Either there is a bug in the GUI, or that is intentional for unknown reasons. Did the developers mean to remove the button, only to forget to finish the job? I'm at a loss now. If clicking in the empty space will run the search, then why not just have the actual button there like before?

In other words, the button is there but has no icon in the skin ...

This was done on a clean profile of Opera 12, using all of the defaults.

I did say "in the skin" ... a custom skin (not a theme) could presumably include an icon for this button, but the default skin does not.

Right, which makes it a bug if the default skin lacks an icon for a button that is clearly there. The same would be true for an icon missing for the "Opera" menu button, in which clicking in the upper-left corner brings up the menu, even though the icon is invisible in the skin.
