I've been blogging since 1993. The word blogging hadn't been coined yet, blogging software didn't exist yet, and the only 'real' forums were porn and software piracy / exchange bulletin boards, of which you had to know the server's phone number. Search engines didn't exist yet, and some people were planning to set up internet directories.
That's close to 20 years.
