12.50 build 1513

Ruari tells us that most of Norway is on holidays right now, but still the Desktop Team have a new Marlin for us to hook into ... some fixes for HWA and DND. Note however ...

Known issues:
Copying text from readonly input fields no longer possible
Cannot change the size of any resizable UI element
Typing in a Flash element with wmode transparent or opaque results in incorrect (or no) output
Numpad shortcut keys do not work
Crash when using keyboard shortcuts while pages are loading with keyboard event listening extensions loaded
[Win] Opera crashes when going to fullscreen in embedded Flash player
[Mac] Key event handling on Mac has some remaining legacy issues
[Linux/FreeBSD] Keyboard layout not respected for Opera shortcuts

Distribution note: Starting with this snapshot we are ending support for Windows 2000.

No too bad except that it doesn't load most images - have to use R-click - Reload Image.
Using the standalone version and copying it to E: drive before 'upgrading' does help: just re-name 1513's folder and copy 1497 back to D;...
XP Pro SP3; 1GB RAM; Avast! AV; Comodo F/W; always the latest Opera!

It crashed out on https://github.com/Gemorroj/noads-advanced when clicking on a commit link (I submitted the crash report).

The other problem I have is the minimize / expand and exit button are missing from the top RHS bar.
It's just blacked out, but if you hover the cursor over where the buttons should be they still function as they should.

I upgraded from the previous 12.50 snapshot (x64, USB standalone install).

- List with Closed tabs is not working, when list with sites is full or whatever else
- Custom User Agent (Mask as Firefox etc.) in Site preferences is not working when we use Custom User Agent in opera:config

I still have the same issue with black screen on certain website, such as gmail. After login in, my gmail is completely black although I can still click around. Similar problem existed in some forum with embedded video where it is totally black. I found solution to this by clicking on another region that is not on the video player. This problem has persisted since opera 12. I tried reinstalling opera and reuse my settings using Stu's backu tool osie.exe but the problem is still there. I see quite a few people reported similar problems here http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=1415572 .

I also found it not loading embedded videos in www.ign.com at all.

This website also never worked for me www.mobile01.com

I tried reporting bug within the opera browser but no one seems to care.

There seems to have been an issue with setting the default loading of images. Just switch (with the menu next to the zoom) to load all images and everything is fine.
Using Windows 7 64Bit SP1 and of course Opera
(If nothing else stated the most current weekly) on a nice Dell Studio XPS 16!

Weird issue - all the fonts are now minuscule, even in here, and i can't find out why. Changing the settings in the Fonts section is apparently useless

When you say you're ending support for Windows 2000, do you mean that you just won't support and test it for Win2000 support, or do you mean it won't actually work any more?! sad

If it's the latter, please put more zots into the Linux version of Opera 12!! It's noticeably less responsive than the Windows version and Flash objects *still* don't show up if a page sets WMODE for the flash object on half my Linux systems, mainly TigerVNC servers and Gentoo boxes. It has been this way since Opera 10 IIRC!

On some pages I can tweak the HTML to remove WMODE setting and Apply Changes (Such a coooool feature! bigsmile) to get them to appear but it's not really ideal...! I tried making a userjs to manually tweak but it's very difficult as there are so many ways and syntaxes of setting the WMODE and if I miss just one I get the same problem...!

In other news:
1) I still have problems submitting bug reports when Opera crashes; I fill the three fields in, click send but it just comes back with Sending failed
2) Opera 12.50 still crashes when trying to reload certain sessions; Logged as DSK-366277
3) Opera 12.50 still repeatedly asks "Do you wish to switch to on-line mode?" for every single tab and window if you start Opera in off-line mode

1 is an on-again-off-again problem I've had in both Windows and Linux for as long as I can remember. 2 and 3 are specifically Opera 12 regressions; Opera 11.64 has no problems there. Please fix! They are super annoying! (If you can hold off dropping 2K support until those two bugs are fixed that'd be cool too bigsmile)
I expect 3 should be quite an easy fix; 2 could be trickier as this problem seems to reoccur every time there is a new major version! lol

Another Opera 12.50 snapshot coming straight after 12.01 is finished, and as per haavard (Desktop QA), it will have a huge Core changelog. Opera Dragonfly, as a result, as per Hallvord R.M. Steen (Core developer) will also get some improvements.
Windows 7 SP1 x86 edition and Windows XP Service Pack 3.
If you need any help from me with regards to Opera, please make a comment on any of my blog posts.

Good: Overall memory usage improvements.

Bad:
-reloading the speed dial tab has a huge memory leak and CPU hit (this happens if for some reason the thumbnails are regenerated).
-crashes very often (probably related to the known bug). Most times it crashes if i do a google search from the context menu.
-some flash instances do not accept keyboard input

Which is horrible if you have like ~50 tabs open. p
