IMAP mail server error message
Hi,I've reported this elsewhere when Opera 12 was in beta, but as there was no feedback or confirmation I guess it maybe is a problem with my set-up. Since the first Opera 12 snapshots I've been getting the occasional "The connection with the IMAP server was unexpectedly interrupted." error message. This does not happen in 11.64, nor in 12 when 11.64 is open. I can still send and receive mail.
I get the problem with three IMAP accounts, one through 1&1 and the others through Opera. I have ensured that the account set-up is the same for both versions of Opera. I have also recreated the accounts using the -pd switch to create a set-up with a clean profile. No success.
I've had the problem on a XPPro Sp3 machine wirelessly connected to a Netgear DG834N router. Since 12 went final I have the same problem on a updated Win7 machine wirelessly connected to a Linksys router daisy-chained to the Netgear. Neither machine has a problem with 11.64.
I know that I can choose for the error messages to be hidden, but that doesn't stop the error exclamation symbol appearing on the account header.
Any suggestions on how to go about resolving this problem would be much appreciated.
Make sure you have your account check interval set to 30 minutes so that Opera just relies on IDLE to get new messages right away and the 30 minute check prevents IDLE from timing out.

That's weird though.

I know that Opera 12 has issues with loading the 127.168.1.0 admin page on netgear routers. Something about Opera 12's requests no longer fitting in a single TCP packet or something. Netgear routers don't like it. That shouldn't affect just using the router with Opera, but you can try going without the route for a bit to see if it starts working or not.

Uninstall both Opera's and then reinstall (don't tell the install to delete your profile info so you'll get all your stuff back after reinstalling).
Check firewall too.

My 1and1 account was at 10 mins now at 30, no improvement. The two Opera accounts were already at 30 and gave problems.

On the XP machine my default is 11.64 (i won't update until I've resolved this problem). I have both 12.01 and 12.5 as USB standalone installations. 12.01 is an upgrade of 12 Next. 12.5 was a clean install with both a clean mail set-up and share 12.01 mail, both configurations give the same problem.
The Win7 machine was an autoupdate from 11.64.

I agree, but there's not much left to try. If this is the problem then it appears Opera is dropping the link to the router, how to resolve?. I would also expect others to report the same problem. Maybe a fix for the admin page problem will fix mine - wishful thinking?
