[1546] Extensions do not store settings

Extensions do not store settings. Try to install this:
https://addons.opera.com/en/extensions/details/gismeteo-weather-forecast-in-speed-dial/
(there is also another GISMETEO extension and it behaves in the same way)
and change the default city (Moscow) to something else. Then restart Opera. You will see Moscow again.
PS. I cannot download this extension directly. Download stops at 11.2 % and restarts.

I also use Gismeteo in Speed Dial and at first I thought that the loss of my settings is the extension's fault. Now I can confirm that you're right - after starting 12.5 again, the current city is set to Moscow. I don't currently have any other extensions on my 12.5 build, but let's suppose you're right.

Me too. Sometimes it stores half of the settings, sometimes it doesn't store any. Sometimes they are stored and later completely forgotten. Can confirm it on at least 6 extensions. Also, clearing private data has thrown away a lot of important lists I had set in extensions.

Smells like something related to localStorage.

Upgraded to latest 12.02 and it was solved. For the moment, 12.50 is a bit too unstable for me. beard

Yup I have the same problem here on 12.50 b1577 (USB installation).

Ghostery, NoAds Advanced etc does not remember any setting changes after Opera exits and restarts.

No such problems with 12.02 b1565 (USB installation).

So it seems like there are some issues concerning this that were introduced in the previous 12.50 snapshot - I don't remember this happening with any 12.01 or 12.02 build. I haven't tested 12.50 (1577) yet, but I will as soon as I get home tonight.

Confirmed: WOT seems to be OK but Ghostery asks for settings every time Opera [1583] opens and the icon is missing if I press cancel.
Works OK in Firefox, apart from firing up 2 tabs every time it blocks a redirect.

WFM, at least my extensions (including Ghostery) store and keep their settings since 2 or 3 builds.

btw. you can install the snapshots as stand-alone version and test it wink

I was too fast.

If you activate

Ctrl+F12 > Delete private data ... > Detailed Options > delete persistent storage

all extensions forget their settings.

Yes. Ghostery seems to be permanently out of action and WOT asks me for settings. I don't like having to go to a site and have cookies on to set up an extension, especially one associated with (in)security - seems counter-intuitive some how.
WOT works OK with Firefox and holds its setting through all sorts of cleaning.

Ah, I'm on the latest 12.5 - I wonder if there'll be any more.

12.5 was replaced by 12.10 some time ago, you're not really up to date with 12.5 anymore

Ah, logical version numbers! Judging by the reports on happy (eye)balls, I'll wait until Opera catches up with me.

They have to give them a number

Not fixed for me.
If I delete persistent storage in the delete private data dialog, my own extension (cleanPages) and Ghostery loose their settings.

Opera/9.80 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; Edition Next) Presto/2.12.388 Version/12.10

build 1627

PS:
They could officially name the snapshots of the latest test series by build# instead of version# (SCNR)

So we need another setting: `Delete extension preferences`

We happily announce the our little Marlin has grown to 1627 today

We went from 12.50 to 12.10 and from a Beta with `basic features set` to a snapshot cycle with new features like Flexbox.

It was rumoured that Vikings ate red mushrooms before going to work in the old days, maybe they still do.
