PDF's and Google Docs?

Windows 7 32 bit, Opera 12.01.
Opera used to open PDF links in my Windows associated PhantomPDF. Then Opera would open a Google Docs window. Luckily for a while there was an option in Google Docs to download the original file. This would open the PDF in PhantomPDF, necessary because Google Docs's PDF interpreter frequently could not open PDF's which PhantomPDF could. However just now I have to register with Google to get this rubbish which I do not want to do.
It seems to be Opera's fault because Firefox 13.01 opens PDF links in PhantomPDF.
I have gone through Opera's Preferences...MIME dialog but this is ignored.
The only part of Google which I want is the search engine. I like Opera because of its splendid bookmarking feature
BUT
how do I revert to Opera's original setup where it did not load Google Docs, just the associated program?

(A lot of complaints from forumistas re Opera 12; is this another issue?)

I would suspect Extensions to be the cause.

Press Ctrl + Shift + E in Opera. Check if you have any of the following extensions installed-

Google Docs Viewer
Documents preview
Documents

If yes, un-install them.

Thank you.
I didn't find any of the above, just 'gPDF'.
I disabled and uninstalled that and now my PDF's open properly.
Please accept my aspersions re Opera 12, but you/they should not have installed that extension of restricted use without my knowing.
I will have to keep a close eye on Opera in future!

FIFO. The plot thickens!
I disabled the gPDF extension and another unbeknownst one from DailyMotion and all seemed Ok. I then uninstalled both of of them.
However when I came to exit Opera I got an Opera message "Opera Internet Browser plugin has stopped working" and then an option of "Close the program". Over my life with Opera 45 plugins have been installed; which one?
Not 'life threatening' as we used to say while I programmed in the NHS.
I remember recently I used to get this message after I was able to run PhantomPDF from a Google Docs option in its attempt to open a PDF file. The message disappeared after Google prompted me to register with Google Docs (and when I started this thread).

You mean you open the websites which you want to browse, close Opera and want to fix the "Opera Internet Browser plugin wrapper has stopped working" error which appears everytime/frequently?

I see you are listed as 'Opera user'. Are you an Opera systems person?
If so, send me the wherewithal to send you a JPG screen dump which shows the plugin and stats which seems to be causing the anomaly.

No. You can choose any title you like in the Forums.

And, for plug-in crashes, you can try Opera 12.02 - http://snapshot.opera.com/windows/latest-12.02
