Extension icons disappeared :-(
I have installed several extensions, e.g. WOT, NotScripts and Night Mode, and first I wondered that I found nothing to activate e.g. the NightMode. But one day several icons appeared on top of the browser, with which I could activate e. g. NightMode. Later, possibly after choosing a different browser theme, these icons disappeared again, and I don't find any way to make them appear again. What can I do?
Opera > Extensions > Manage Extensions... > controls that they are enabled,if they are not enabled click Enable .
i have the same problem. my extensions are enabled and they still disappear in the upper right hand corner. also despite extensions being enabled, they are still not working. what is going on??? oh and this is a fresh windows install too.
yup confirmed it again. I tested this problem by specifically performing a clean instal of windows the installing Opera then extensions. I tested my extensions and they work fine. After that I install flash and test my extensions again. They are all enabled in extension manager but none of them work.
I just posted on the extensions sub-section about this.
Went to launch the browser today and most of the installed extensions acted like they were just installed, either returned to default settings or became non-functional.
And to add to the Flash suspicion, I just updated to Flash v11.5.502.110 on 11/10, same day I updated Opera to 12.10.
Opera worked fine after that (Win7-x64, Opera x64), it was only today I saw this problem. Yesterday I did the monthly Microsoft updates.

After doing some reading in the forums, it seems like the most common culprit for this is if you use the "delete private data" feature and include "persistent storage" or "plugin data", or if you go into tools/preferences/storage and delete persistent storage, it can screw up various extensions.
I think the 2nd one is what happened to me today. Yesterday I deleted persistent storage.
But, I think this is still an architectural problem with Opera. It should not mingle configuration data for extensions with website metadata that the user has no control over. The first one you definitely WANT, the 2nd one you oftentimes DO NOT want, and wish to periodically remove. (or not store in the first place)
