Opera12.02 problem on loading Flash content

Hi guys,

I am new with the forum as well as with opera.
I used Opera couple days ago I was surprised by the speed of loading pages.
Unfortunately I have some issues. When a page is loading with flash content,
the video or whatever that is, is not shown.Instead a blank white area is appeared in their place.

For example check this link which has a video that I can not watch:

http://www.newsbeast.gr/sports/arthro/418787/otan-o-spanoulis-thumise-bodiroga/

I hope I can fix this bug because I really enjoy using Opera.

In Preferences - Advanced - Content uncheck Enable plugins only on demand or here.

Thanks for your reply CraigPD but this does not seem to be the problem.I already had this box unchecked.
If you have any other ideas I am all ears!

Which version of Shockwave Flash shows in opera:plugins ? Is it enabled? Shockwave Flash v11,4,402,265 plays that video perfectly here on XP.

If you've enabled Turbo then it will not load plug-in content until clicked on - but then you shouldn't see just white (they show a large "Play" icon as a placeholder).

Can you play the same video on YouTube using Flash or does it revert to HTML5 trial?

Hello to all wink

I'm new here but an dedicated Opera user since more than 7 years! i have also a problem with flash player v.11.4.402.278 installed and running on Opera 12.10.1605 and Win 7 SP1.

i can normally watch videos on any site like youtube, dailymotion etc. i can also normally see content/videos showing on any sites, but THE PROBLEM is that i CAN'T SEE any videos posted on any forum!!! all i see is a blank white space!!!

got to mention that all these suggestions above are enabled or unchecked like "Enable plugins only on demand - unchecked" "Opera Turbo - disabled" etc.

So i really don't know what the problem could be, but i hope that someone can give me any kind of a tip because i had problems with Opera and flash, i mean who didn't bigsmile, but this problem i'm dealing with for the first time.
And if i'm wrong here on this part of the forum, i would be thankful if someone could give me a link to another thread where it's maybe solved already.

greetings

The flash plugin still might not be activating. Right click the video on YouTube and see if it indicates "About HTML5" as below:

Two questions: Are Hardware acceleration and Rendering mode set to zero (default)? I've read about Flash problems in 12.10 snapshots with HWA=1, though if its working alright on YouTube that would be inconsistent.

My Hwa was =1 Rendering -1 & the problem still exists although I have not yet done a restart

So far 2 You tube videos ran fine & did not quit at the end without actually finishing & freezing up
So some progress

Still problems - You tube OK but other sites no show or say plugin disabled I go to preference advanced & look at plug ins & do not see the flash I was requested to download & install . Adobe says Installed . Are there preferred versions of flash for the 12.02 ? HWA =0 Rendering =0 You tube videos indicate "about HTML5" Everthing runs fine on chrome on the same machine ???????

Apparently YouTube is using HTML5, not flash. What does opera:plugins show as the status of Shockwave Flash - enabled or disabled or missing?

This is what I'm seeing:
Description: Shockwave Flash 11.4 r402
C:\WINDOWS\system32\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_11_4_402_278.dll
application/futuresplash	FutureSplash movie	spl
application/x-shockwave-flash	Adobe Flash movie	swf,swt

I also have problems with flash on youtube, twitch and ow3d alike. Youtube the video often wont load, or the popup menu is messed up in someway, thinking about the play button and the change resolution one.

Twitch and own3d won't even start.

Using some sites with extensions, and also here youtube is really messed up, (reddit e.g.)

I have similar problems. Same setup. Opera 112.02. Shockwave Flash .278 is installed and enabled. Youtube works and shows Flash as the player. But other sites don't not just videos (but mostly like at ard.de) also other animated content like the Ikea landing page at their website. Just white or black space is shown once I click to start the video, even though I do get the mouse over effects before starting them.
But it seems to depend on the website. Engadget videos load fine for example. really don't know what's going on. First thought it was tied to content blocking (because maybe the player want's to connect to a blocked ad-server) but disabling content blocking in site preferences doesn't make a difference.

I have the same problem, but only on 64 bit version, 32 bit version loads flash videos normally. Youtube defaults to HTML5 in 64bit version.

My 10 cents only add to the disappointment that Opera presented since v. 12.02 here too.

Many Youtube videos don't show, asking for the newest Flash player, which I have. Actually, some videos run with the installed "Shockwave Flash 11,4,402,287", some with only the "Shockwave for Director 11.6.3r633" or none at all. Are these the HTML5-formatted ones?

Btw, there are other disfunctionalities, e.g. like here, where reader comments don't open at pressing the red bar "Kommentare einblenden"

http://www.jungefreiheit.de/Single-News-Display-mit-Komm.154+M537c2271520.0.html

Everything works just fine, when using Chrome, so this makes me wary about whether to stick with Opera which I do for more than a dozen years.

I had problem with some youtube videos as this one: http://youtu.be/lGf8r9txI3w I tried everything suggested here, but nothing seemed to work. Then I activated the Turbo function and then I got the arrow placeholder over the video and by clicking it I was able to start the video.
