Opera Libraries in Internet Explorer
I've been promoting Opera for a while now on Channel 9, a Microsoft developer community site. So I posted about Opera's new dev site, with its articles and its libraries. And I got a comment that some of the examples just don't work in IE7.Is this temporary, or are there no plans to make sure it works in Internet Explorer (still the most used browser)?
For reference, here's the thread: http://channel9.msdn.com/ShowPost.aspx?PostID=253544
If it doesn't work in IE because IE fails to support a standard like addEventListener, I personally don't think it's a priority fix :-p Let it be a showcase of what you can do with standards and let web developers put some pressure on Microsoft to implement what they want supported.

Well, the libraries are there to be useful, not to thumb our noses at a particular implementation. This has to do with the origin of these libraries. They were made for widget purposes where non-standard behaviour isn't an issue. But they should preferably be made to work on the Web at large where non-standard behaviour is close to being the issue.
This sig intentionally broken by My Opera devs...
I am glad to read on http://webstandards.org that Opera 9 keeps to the Standards,
Pity that MS continues to break this,
What I like best about Opera is that the User Interface is Identical in Linux and Windows,
What I miss though is Toolbars, Yahoo, Google etc...
