Watching comments in photo albums
Hallo! There's a little "uncomfortableness" in watching comments in your own album. When someone adds a comment, album' owner gets a notification with a link to the whole album. Therefore he has to look through all the photos, and if there's more than five comments already, that's very boring...
Could notification link point directly to commented photo?
Thanks

Yes, but in watched blogs and albums new entries are always on top, so it's not too hard to find what you want (-:E

Basically, the user Javascript does the manual lookup of the thumbnail itself: it loads the album where the comment has been made (only first 500 pictures
Other fixes regard the spurious my.opera.com/~/blog and my.opera.com/community/ links or those missing altogether.
Known Issues:
- There is a bug/feature in MyOpera, whereby if you're accessing your own album, it marks all the comments for that album as read.
So, if you don't read all the comments to the photos the first time they appear in your Watch, you'll miss them on reloading /news (the userscript would have already looked at the album)
- There is a bug/feature in MyOpera, whereby if a single user leaves multiple comments on several pictures from one of your albums, you only get notified of her last such comment.
So, that is where the link will take you now.

I see... It's really a pity Ole has left.
So we've just to keep waiting for fix

Thanks, when I have a little bit more time I'll be glad to test your script, but the very sorrowful thing is that UserJS can't fix links in sidebar... )-:E

What problem exactly are you refering to ?
If I got you right, your UserJS changes links to albums into link to fotos, doesn't it? As UserJS don't work in sidebar pages, your one cannot help with solving problem of the topic if one uses special sidebar of notification page.

I find the Watch page easier to control than the side-panel. On the other side (get it?), the side-panel is a little more usable, with its small size and content folding on click, but not without its problems (frequently I got news items opening in the panel, instead of a new tab).
Anyway, I'll try to incorporate a few more improvements in the UserJS (e.g. putting comments to threads I participated in before new blog posts notifications). I am looking forward for the rewrite, fixes and improvements (e.g I would consider more important news my friend's forum posts than watched albums) but that's for another thread altogether.

As far as I know, it's impossible, because Opera doesn't let UserJS work in sidebars/panes \-:E
Thank you for your improving work!

I cannot confirm that. It seems rather impossible, as the Mini (actually the same Kestrel we use on desktop) just renders the page, and the page only has links like http://my.opera.com/USER/albums/show.dml?id=999999the comment link for photos appears to link directly to the correct photo from Mini 4 Beta 2

It seems like a IE bug! Takes a long time to fix

Indeed, replies to your comments in others' albums are tracked correctly. This issue concerns comments in your albums etc.
In case it hadn't been fixed yet, of course (-:E

This seems to no longer be the case - comments on any photo album (not just mine) now only link to the album itself, not the photo. This is a teensy bit irksome

Please, I would love to hear that this will be corrected! I'm missing comments all over the place, particularly on my 365 album

Call Ole for an extra work.
I hope will be fixed as soon as soon (not as possible).

There's no quick fix. A complete rewrite would be neccessary. Unfortunately Ole has left Opera, so this will probably be delayed..[/quote
This seems to be the answer to the problem i guess...
Nice one Ze i find it a pain with larger albums..

With all respect to those children, our lurking through comments won't feed them. As for me, I'm glad you're quite happy without bug/feature in question, but we need it.
