url to image?

Is there any way to automatically display imageurls (urls linking to image files like www.something.com/image.jpg) as images?

I visit a lot of forums that don't have the option to display images with tags. Whenever there's a topic with loads of images I have to manually copy and paste all of them in new tabs, which is quite a tedious thing to do.

It would be perfect if there was some thing that automatically converts imageurls to sneak-preview images, but anything that might be of help would be very much welcome.

I realize this is quite a specific request, but it would really help a lot.

Thanks in advance...

There's some javascript to do that. Though I do have to ask - why copy and paste? You can middle-click the link, or drag it to the page bar, or Shift-click, or about a dozen other options that would be quicker.

This UserJS will make all text-image links clickable + you can hover the link to preview the image :D .

well it works with plain text URLs that are not clickable unless the script is loaded. when loaded the URL in above post (which is not a href link, because of the code tag) will be clickable and display a thumbnail.

however my 9770 just crashed two times, while entering the URL in a code tag, adding two returns before and two returns and after it, clicking on "preview"

( ... and hovering the mouse over the link, which was not clickable in the preview window and surprisingly was, once "submited". or something ...)

actually the crash appeared this time, when clicking on submit.

btw: inspector is run only once, looks like several windows, because the sreen did not repaint, when i draged the window.

crahs only occurs when this specific script is loaded. (and only in preview/submit situations, it seems)
i had no other scripts in D:\Aps\Net\Http\opera\profile and no user *.css loaded when testing.

reproducing the crash is most easyly done by opening the attached file. crashes only when mentioned script is in user dir. since i have no clue, if the script is buggy or opera or the message board or if the presumptive JS bug is even known, i wont fill a bug report. besides i dont like the bug report interface. cant attach files there, for example. (i know i could provide a link to my opera files .... lazy me)

That's the only time I've seen this script work. Didn't crash my Opera 9.25
