major problems blogging. 404 on every post!

hello. i posted some hours ago no problems.

i wanted to edit my posts and the system totally wrecks up my posts.

always 404 after posting and changes dont get taken. also post-urls get totally screwed.

it is only since some hours now. maybe 2 hours.

i wanted to release a freeware-program i wrote to a broad public and i really love the opera-blogging system to broadcast myself to the world.

also i dont want to go somewhere else to do my publications since i fully trust in opera. not to say i love you.

please look into that issue.

also it seems only to be a problem for logged in users, since when i even do a layout change it gets taken for me as logged in users, but when i log out and go to my blog the old layout still shows up even on reloading (cache is empty).

also i found major layout glitches when using the site with OPERA!! (only the last few hours) when using firefox its all ok with the layout.

maybe you do some major upgrade or so, if so please tell me now.

as said i want to release something pretty interesting to the world and i really dont want to wait tooo long... ofcourse this my single destiny is not really interesting, but i think there are a lot of people experiencing pretty much the same right now.

THANKS anyway FOR THIS REALLY GREAT PLATFORM! i will stay with you whatever comes, as long as you keep up the great work!

I can confirm this problem. ALL posts using the URL to reference a post are randomly coming up 404. It's rather annoying. =(

Hehe, the problem should be solved now  One of our servers went mad. Should not have affected for logged in users, though! :/
We solved multiple issues we've had while fixing this one thing!

We're going to move one of our primary database-servers today, but if all goes like planned (let's hope!), you won't even notice it!

My new post won't show!

It is there, I can look at it while I'm signed in but otherwise I get a 404. It doesn't show up in the forum section either.

When searching for it, it shows up in... but if I try to go there I get a 404.

I was gonna post this in a new thread before I figured someone else might have issues too... q-: So I'll simply make an addition to this thread isntead

logged out view lags by some hours. some forum posts i now see logged in are not there logged out.

same for blogs. logged out shows some hours old status of blogs and logged in can read blogs but posting is impossible always 404.

strange only 8 or 9 people complain out of almost 1 million users.

looking at the standard IQ and posting activity of my.opera.com users this seems really few.

where are you opera-users?

Got 404 error 2-3 times but then clicked on the 0 Comments link which redirected to same URL (with hash) and after that the URL worked.

I've been experiencing the same since about 13hours ago, and posted in another thread http://my.opera.com/community/forums/findpost.pl?id=2151805 . Have not experienced 404 error yet, though.

Happening to me as well. After hitting "save" on a new post, it gave me a 404. Then the post actually showed on the main blog screen for me (while logged in), but clicking the headline brought me another 404. Viewing my blog from a logged out account didn't show the new blog post at all.

Same problem here. My latest blog entry only shows if I'm logged in. The same problem with my latest photo in my 365 album... the latest entry only shows if you are logged in.

I'm not sure if this is related, I think it is, but I keep getting this message when I try to do things on my blog and click links to other pages and blogs on opera

Database Malfunction

Yes, seems like this:

"We're going to move one of our primary database-servers today, but if all goes like planned (let's hope!), you won't even notice it!"

went not as expected :-/

GAAAAAAAAH!!!

I finally figured out the reason why things have been so scetchy lately. Things should hopefully go smooth on from here. Let's hope! :D

We're as espen says; very sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you!

Please report any errors you may see to one of the my.opera developers or espen! Thanks!

I would have liked to, but i was unable to login for most of the last 24 hours and couldn't see any post newer than 22 hours ago. Login was ignored, forums gave 404s everywhere. Some kind of announcement on the front community page would have been appreciated.

Tuesday, 17. July 2007, 13:58:38

I second theoddbod - an announcement would have helped a lot.
But nevertheless thanks for fixing the problem quite fast! :-)

I don't know, but it's only in the last half hour i've even been able to login or view a post/blog entry less than 24 hours old. For most of the last twenty-four hours i've been seeing the same 'Thumbnails' post as the most recent and been unable to login.

I had the same problem for the past 24h. It doesn't affect my blog, though - it just happens when I click on the "News" in my page or in some links in the Opera Community page (whether I'm logged in or not), e.g. "900.000 members". But every time I go to the OC page, the number of comments (and members) has increased - so it looks like some people can access those things but I can't...

I've been having the same problems. Unable to login since yesterday afternoon. Only now am I able to post a message. If this had happened to Yahoo or Google it would have made the evening news and set the blogosphere on fire.

I agree that some sort of message on the main page would have been extremely useful. At least that way we would know that the Opera staff was aware of the problem and was working on it. At first I thought it was a problem with my computer. I rebooted 3 or 4 times to see if it would make a difference. I thought maybe my account was closed accidentally for some reason. Without an anouncement there is no way to know if the problem is local or global!

I also sent messages via the contact page:
http://my.opera.com/community/contact/?selected=helpPage
but got no reply. This lack of feedback is very frustrating.

So did Opera get there update done or did they just pull back to the old stuff and have to do the upgrade later? Enquiring minds want to know

I assume some updates were done as I'm now seeing files located in storage9 or some such location. Glad that it's all working again, and thanks for fixing and reporting on here. The human touch is what makes My Opera such a great place
