8.65 won't start after trial to enter registration key
I ran Opera mobile 8.65 on my WM5 (on Cingular 8525). Trial period expired. Bought licence. Uninstalled Opera. Reinstalled from PC to 8525. When I start 8.65 it only gives pop-up saying to buy a licence at the opera website then closes, giving me no chance to get into the progam to enter reg key. Now I have a licence/key but cannot get into Opera to even enter it. I get frustrated with this behavior(similar issue last week with PCTools!) and now looks like I must pay the opera people just to contact them and ask why their software is road-blocking! Any ideas what I should be doing that I'm not? thanks, dave austermanWednesday, 3. October 2007, 20:10:08

Has anyone heard when a fix for these problems might be available.

1. remove software 8.65 (I then deleted the directory it was in also)
2. download 8.60
3. select register now on 8.60 and it will show you your device id (this is a unique opera id, different from your pocketpc id)
4. buy a licence from opera.com using that device id (I did this on a pc) and they email you a registration code
5. complete registration of 8.60 on the pocketpc
6. download and install 8.65 which upgrades 8.60 and uses the same registration code
Now you can use 8.65 again!

Is anyone else having problems installing 8.65 to an SD card?

The last patch release for Windows Mobile Opera 8.65 does neither work on my Qtek9000 (WM5) with Spanish language. I have tried to install it first in the card storage, an then in the main memory, but it does run in any case. As someone says before, the program ends when the little splash screen with the Opera logo is displayed.
In my device, the folders created by the installer are "\Application Data\Opera\..." and "Archivos de prgrama\Opera\" ( "Tarjeta de almacenamiento\Application Data\Opera\..." and "Tarjeta de almacenamiento\Archivos de programa\Opera\" when I install the program in the storage card"). The paths in the file opera.ini seem to b correct: they are "\Application Data\Opera\..." in any case.
I bought and registered the version 8.6 in 2006 and it works very well in my device. I also have tried 8.56 beta without problems, even using it in the storage card. But the version 8.65 does not work although I registered 8.6 before. It is more likely that the problem is caused by the non-English ROM, not by the registration code, as it is commented in other threads.
Regards.

I uninstalled 8.65, installed 8.60 and said I wanted to register. Did so, uninstalled 8.60, reinstalled 8.65, and it worked.
All installs were done to main memory. (SD card used exclusively for video.)
All my 8.65beta bookmarks were still there, so this is a good workaround.

Solution - version 8.60
On Smartphone (Qtek 8010) Opera 8.65 works much worse than 8.65 beta - freezes and is slower
Can anybody from Opera Software solve it? This is a very negative effect in the time you want people to purchase something that was free and working much better !!!

Thanks for the tip. I used this method, and it worked--but only if I install Opera 8.65 to the default (internal) location. If I try to install it to SD, it just flashes the Opera logo quickly then disappears, without the app launching afterwords.
