Why would you need to change it beyond the browsers proposed in Edit site preferences?
You've just read one of Jadd's posts! Stop and meditate on the wonderful wisdom he has just uttered.

Isn't it possible to do this? I mean,it's possible to add another user agent in the useragent list?

Just as I thought...

Or, for example, to mask as a firefox version more recent than 2.0.1

Or, for example, to mask as a firefox version more recent than 2.0.0

Currently the string used for "mask as firefox" is:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 5.1; U; en; rv:1.8.1) Gecko/20061208 Firefox/2.0.0
I'd like it to be something more like:
Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.9.1.7) Gecko/20091221 Firefox/3.5.7
which is the current firefox string.

I've seen some sites render differently with these two strings, for example outlook.com/owa displays a lo-fi version if fed the first string (using FF3.5 + user agent switcher) but show the proper full-fat version when given the second UA string.

Valid (albeit a bit exotic) use cases keno888, but no, this isn't possible at this point.

Thanks for the reply, andreas. Is there any chance the [mask as FF] string will be updated to FF 3+ in a future version? Surely Opera 10.X is at least as capable a browser as FF 3.0.0. Better yet, a 6th option in browser identification, for a custom string like the old [ISP] section in opera:config.
I know the real problem lies with the web devs yet again, but getting them to change their ways is like herding cats...
