Will December 21, 2012, be the End of Days?
Recently saw an interesting program on this. Seems the Mayan calendar, I Ching, ancient oracles, "Mother Shipton" (some doubts as to her actual existence), Merlin (no doubt expressed in the program as to his authentic existence, or someone(s) like him), the Hopi tribe, web bot programs originally used to predict stock futures, etc., all focus on this date or thereabouts for some sort of cataclysmic, worldwide occurrence. Interestingly, scientists (unidentified in the program) say that the earth, sun and center of the Milky Way will all align on this date. The Mayans also identified this alignment centuries ago and postulated the existence of a black hole at the center of our galaxy, which has also recently been suggested by astronomers. One scenario presented was a pole shift on earth caused by the gravitational forces of this celestial alignment, which happens only once every 25,000 years or so. This was presented as a viable possibility, as it has been proven to have happened in the past. (I make no representation as to the veracity of the sources given above. I merely report them. The show was presented on an otherwise reputable network.)Your thoughts?

I have quite a few opinions. I reckon it will make my day when Scotland gains independence & you have to start using the euro. It is my opinion independence can't come soon enough for Scotland. And most English, Welsh & Jocks seem to agree with me.
BTW, I've never misplaced any kind of conceit, even including the poems of John Donne.

Do future Scottish euros count? Probably not as they'll be worthless!

Hey, at least I'll have some cool souvenirs.

So, how many are you willing to bet?

You did this last time you were on the forums so on you go look silly?
Well, (a) this sentence is not syntactically correct & makes no real grammatical sense. If it is not technically in the interrogative, why have you ended it with a question mark? A semi-colon between the noun plural 'forums' & the preposition 'so' may improve it slightly. Either way, it is a brutal murdering of the Queen's English with an extreme prejudice. And (b) you don't actually need me to look silly. You are doing an excellent job all by yourself.

About a Scottish fiver's worth, they are virtually *useless in England, just like the euro.
*Most shops &/or places of business won't accept them as currency in my experience.

From page 1, where I said "I am certain that there will be an end of day on December 21, 2012." and offered to bet on it.

So the ending is really the beginning . . . a new beginning in which all of us can share.
As the sun began to rise it became apparent that nothing was left . . . Everything had been made new! The earth basked in glory, and sounds of joy and gladness rose to heaven (Isaiah 65:17-25; Revelation 21:1-5).
"God shalt wipe away all tears . . . there shall be no more death . . . neither shall there be any more pain, for the former things are passed away" (Revelation 21:5).
