Version 0.3 released. First I've heard of this and it's certainly good to see, though come on Opera, enhance the browser to do more of the basics.

Thanks, built-in search engine customisation is a tragically weak area of Opera browser.

I really wish the Opera developers will intergrate this SearchEdit into Opera 10, which is coming soon...

Since it appears Opera will never give us this simple functionality (spare me the harangues about how I don't know that it's easy, blahblahblah), is there any chance you'll be updating this app for 10+?

We haven't tried the latest windows build with SearchEdit, but most of the functions "should" work.

At an earlier state of the development of Opera 10.50 we have noticed a few issues and one of them has been reported from us: "DSK-281840 Has endseparator=1 does not work."
As long as Opera does not fix this bug there will be no separators in the dropdown box.

At the moment an update is not necessary. We have still a few ideas to improve SearchEdit but due the lack of time of mikko, our java programmer, we cannot release a new version.

Unfortunately Multi Searches aren't working anymore for me since I have upgraded to Opera v10.00. Neither my old Multi Searches work nor can I create new ones that do what they should...

Whenever I use a Multi Search now (using "search in different tabs") Opera just opens one tab and uses the first of the defined search engines sad

I've tested it also with the option to "Search in one tab with different frames" - this still works but limits me to 4 search engines. Is it possible that the new version of Opera limits the amount of tabs that can be opened at once? (to just one?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I suppose you mean 10.50. wink
Thanks for the posting.

I think Alexs found a solution and we hope to release a fixed version of SearchEdit as soon as possible..
If it takes too long we will post the workaround on the SearchEdit Blog

Edit:
Unfortunately it is a little bit more complicated
The problem is related to javascript changes for 10.50 There are also a lot of user-javascipts who needs updates

Philo, the mouseevent stuff you're using doesn't work anymore in that form. But you could just use window.open instead of it (unless I'm missing something your script is supposed to do that's not possible with window.open)

I just wanted to know if there is a fix/workaround yet to get SearchEdit to work with Opera 10.50 (or 10.53)? Unfortunately I'm still not able to use the Multisearches which I had gotten so used to... :-(

Any solution on the horizon?

Hello,
Do you have any idea why javascript searches created with this tool work (create multi searches) but not self created javascript searches nor editing your javascript searches into ours ?
I had working self created javascript search that stopped working as soon as I edit it.
But I don’t see any difference in search.ini between the working and the non working javascript searches.
I mean I can’t make any more javascript searches, can you ? And how ?

Also, Could you add a SORT searches button that would reorder searches by either their name or their key ?
