Are you sure that deviantart "categories" is working fine for you with 9.5 final?

It works wonderfully sleek. I just select categories, I click, I browse them, I go forward and back, and it seems to jump to the selected category whenever I click.

(And mine is NOT a clean installation, it's been a constant upgrade of the latest 10-15 builds)

Doesn't work here since a long time...
The menu drops down, but as I click a category it closes and nothing happens...

It wasn't working on the RC but it's working for me after a fresh install.

Using XP SP3 if that matters.

Works perfect here, too. Please edit topic-subject.

Holy smokes... This is the first time I have seen this work in Opera 9.5. I wasn't even working in the Release Candidate (or was it the build before that?), but now it works! Awesome! I reported this as a bug back in February at http://my.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=223413. They really were up all night!

Got it... It is in the browser.js

To update your browser.js:
Change the option from 2 to 1
Click Save
Then on the menu bar click Help > Check for Updates

The normal state is 2, so if you set it to 1 it was only temporary. Setting it to 1 manually is only necessary when you want an update on demand.

2 = Use and check for updates weekly
1 = browser.js signature invalid. On next check for update, a new browser.js will be downloaded and the value set to 2.

Last two posters: If you look in your profile, do you see a browser.js there with a new date on it (and an internal date of June 10)? If not, it never updated.

Did the routine several times. Update reported that I had the latest version. The last time I tried the update reported back that it didn't recognize my language (English version???) but it DID do the update regardless. Deviant Art now works. Thank you.

Yeah I had that didn't recognize my language thing once also. Tried it again and it worked! I wonder if updating the browser.js would help alot of people with their bug bug problems?

Just to be sure by internal date are you referring to when it was created because in my profile mine shows that it was created May 16 and I have followed the suggestion as to how I should update, but the browser.js just stays the same. How do I at least get it to June 10?

Friday, 4. July 2008, 12:58:24

Help --> Check for updates (this function also checks for browser.js updates). Does that work for you? The latest browser.js is of 1 July: http://www.opera.com/docs/browserjs/ .

When I check for updates it indicates that I have the latest version of Opera. But when go to the C:\D & S\profile\App Data\Opera\profile\browser.js and click properties mine says created May 16, 2008. Not July 1, 2008.

Ok I deleted old browser.js did the above steps and new browser.js was created so all is well now.

Note that when "Check for updates" tells you that you have the latest version of Opera, it's only referring to the program. If you have the latest version of Opera but not the latest version of supplemental files like browser.js, it's still going to tell you that you have the latest version of Opera and give no indication that 1) the other files are outdated and 2) that it's updating them.

This one involves the DA chatrooms.
