Opera 9.26 Totally Not Working With GMail
It was barely functioning with GMail at v9,25 but with 9.26 the entire GMail webpage has become completely unresponsive to Opera. I cannot click on anything now. Anyone else having this problem?Sunday, 30. November 2008, 12:40:35

Why not upgrade to 9.62? It works OK with Gmail here, except for fetching POP mail (no success so far).
Strange about fetching Gmail POP3 mail. I've been using it for 3 years and had no problems with any versions of Opera - including 9.62. (XP pro)

Well I won't say that too soon because java codes can be very embedded these days.
For a start, are you using filter.ini in your Opera profile dir? The default filter.ini is too aggressive and when used will render gmail BLANK. If you are, rename it to something else and start Opera again. Or if you've any ad-blocker running, turn it off for a test first.

I don't have filter.ini but urlfilter.ini. I already tried without it but it doesn't change anything. Sorry.
After you disable that filter, you need to clear the cookies for this site and Delete Private Data to clear the cache before you load this GMail site again. Yes, this step to clear is important.
BTW, where did you put your urlfilter.ini??

I removed urlfilter.ini (by the way it is the standard name of the blocked content file - see : Tools menu > Advance > Blocked content …)
I click Delete private data … and checked all cookies (event temporary) and cache history.
I closed Opera, I cleared the cache again.
I close Opera, I reopen, I go to gmail.
It doesn't work better than before.
I have a long history of Opera updates on both my machines (Win XP and Win 2000), they both have this display bug since gmail layouts are online.
I've seen friends using opera without this problem maybe it's because my long time Opera using. Some old files may cause this ?
edit : I forgot to say that I also updated browser.js by clicking "Help > Check for updates".
