Imacros for Opera.

Hello all. I am new here.

I am thinking of moving from Firefox to Opera.
I need to know if there is somekind of automation in Opera.

In Firefox, I am a heavy user of Imacro, a small add-on that can record my clicks, and then we can execute it repetitiously.
I need to know if there is a similar apps/widget/addon in Opera that will enable me to do that.

Kindly advise. Thanks.

There is nothing that would record your clicks, and play them. But I never feel the need for such a tool atall

tell us exactly what you do, with the macros app, I am dead sure Opera has alternatives
Doh! not using GESTURES ,HERE YA GO! MOUSE GESTURES FOR WINDOWS : STROKEIT [/SIZE][/b]

If you can't find it here
http://widgets.opera.com/

Then it probably doesn't exist. Unfortunately Opera's widgets pales in comparison to the sheer amount of Firefox add-ons available.

You could try looking for a program that works outside the web browser, like a macro recorder that would work in any program.

I would like to see this also.
I repeatedly open like some 30-40 websites everyday ,its a laborious process everyday without some sort of automation.
I know i can put all those sites in a bookmark folder but thats not very subtle, also Tamil wrote about some sort of hackish technique of opening sites/tabs with 1 click, but even that lacked automation.

Save them as a session, and open the session, either in a new window, or insert the session in the current window. Anyway, what's wrong with a bookmark folder? Nothing not subtle about it — it does what you want with a couple of clicks.

Opera is highly customisable. You can execute several commands in a single shortcut, mouse gesture, or button.

making a folder would create lots of duplicates.
i have tried sessions, just didn't feel all that pleasant on a daily basis, its good for taking temporary backup of tabs.

Please learn what widgets are before posting such things. Widgets are not extensions, they are not like extensions, they are not trying to be like extensions. Comparing them to extensions is like comparing cars to trees.

Have you tried enabling Tools Preferences Startup Show Startup Dialogue[/font] while using sessions for this. It's how I use them.

As for something like iMacros, it would probably be possible to do using User Javascript. However, creating such a system would involve quite a significant amount of relatively complex coding I'd say - I know the iMacros extension for Firefox is quite a complex app - it contains hundreds of component files - the developers have put a significant amount of work into it. Someone would have to be willing to do the same for Opera.

I personally don't think the (imo very small) benefit gleaned from such an app would be worth the effort given the (non-automated) alternatives currently available.

iMacros actually uses an external dll library to perform some of it's functionality - so it kind of does this anyway, if in a transparent fashion. So again, it's just a matter of someone being willing to put in the effort of developing something similar for Opera - it's very possible, just noone's bothered.

One that I use quite often on these forums is a command that I assigned to Shift F6. It types the code for image aligned right, pastes the image URL, then closes the image code. Another similar command inserts the clipboard text as code:
cut & Insert, "[ImgRight=" & paste & Insert, "]"

I couldn't find an answer. How might I assign a keyboard shortcut to 'Find in page'?

Thanks sgunhouse, but I meant for the button, it's the ninth one at Appearance > Buttons tab > Search category, which I placed on a toolbar.

You can't assign shortcuts to buttons, only to their functions. Using "f" in the address bar still works, here anyway.
