Download:

[url]http://snapshot.opera.com/windows/ow32enen720b4.exe (build 3069)

Changelog:

General:

* Crash fixes
* Memory fixes
* Fix for plugin paths
* Fixed: Default apps for trusted protocols not set
* Fixed: The icon for the unread document from skin.ini was not used
* Fixed miscolored gif bug
* Added clear button to customize dialog box (not on toolbar by default)
* Copy&paste formatting fixes
* Added "turbo mode" to Multimedia prefs: Smooth drawing of images

* Iframe fixes
* User mode fixes
* Better handling of pseudo elements in getComputedStyle
* Fix for copying long notes and links to clipboard
* Clear links panel when closing a window. Use lock if you want to keep them around
* Allow new windows to be opened while a close-all is in progress without entering an endless loop
* Always show the local context menu when using Ctrl+M, just like if you use the (Windows-specific) context menu button
* Fix for Help button accepting a certificate
* Force reuse of page when searching if page is empty
* Support for function keys F13 to F20
* Improved support for language versions of search.ini
* Allow fast forward before page is completely loaded
* Fix: Flash content only loaded after re-loading page
* Update delay tuning
* Changed so that loading redraw lock start when new document arrives, instead of when contacting server. Therefore changing default to 2 seconds
* Added support for bolded menu items
* Let special forward mouse buttons try fast forward if no normal forward
* Fixed: No preview for international font selection
* Fixed: Text select highlighting lost on link when moused-over
* Fixed printing of frames
* Made root honour overflow: hidden on BODY
* Accepting ! at end of comment
* Possible to tab through items in Personal bar

* Do not activate a bookmark using its shortcut if the bookmark is inside the trash folder
* Added a top borderline above mail toolbar in windows skin
* Fixed problem with korean IME
* Load default (fallback) language file when changing UI language from preference dialog box

Kiosk mode:

* Added kiosk mode filters
* Support for no-download kiosk mode
* Support for kioskresetstation kiosk mode
* Support for reset-on-exit kiosk mode setting
* Suport for disabling file upload widget in kiosk mode
* Support for no-change-buttons
* Support for "kiosk-button" kiosk flag
* Hide pagebar + open new page when the last is closed
* Disable bookmark menu contents in no-Hotlist mode

M2:

* Easy way to add filter to an existing view (filter on address or subject) - right-click message, select "Show in", view name, "This view and add filter"
* Quick reply shows recipient as ghost text
* Fixes for hide from other views not available in Filter window
* Made mail view title into a button used to change mail view without Hotlist
* New Reindex mail dialog, to be used when new features are added to M2 that require some kind of reindexing. Now used to reindex mail per account so that the account selector works even with old mail. Pressing Cancel will make the dialog reappear next time. Reindexing works across multiple sessions
* Completely rewritten format=flowed code. Improved support for RFC2646, and added support for Unicode Standard Annex #14, "Line Breaking Properties". Needs testing!
* Be even more restrictive in flowing. Following RFC2646 §4.1
* Added sorting of the mail access menu
* Export mail fix - will only export mail from selected access point
* Not show newsgroup messages in Unread by default
* If plaintext LOGIN with literal fails, retry without literals (and without quoting).
* Added workaround for servers not following RFC2980 §3.1.3(.1)
* Open a message box asking about entering online mode if checking mail in offline mode.
* Fixes for very slow-loading mail indexes

'...' bug was not fixed just as I expected.

The bug when you right click a link and click "open" and the current page is refreshed before the new link is loaded has not been fixed either (yes I reported it for beta 2 even)
Bug number: 122482

opera is not big company can't fix the bug at the same time

Thursday, 21. August 2003, 16:23:40

And yet again the so-obvious display bug of the menus (top of page) at Blizzard.com and other pages is still present.
I truely hope that this will be fixed before 7.20 goes Final... This bug is just so darn infront-of-your-eyes that it is something people won't miss.

And yes, it has been reported (and I don't remember the ID).

The bug where Opera forgets its start-up position is still present. This only popped up in 7.2beta3 and I was hoping it would be fixed soon. :frown:

Ah well...

They will soon become a GREAT compagny :wink: Their efforts will be rewarded soon :wink: 7.20 final will be their BEST advertisement ever ! All of my friends surrounding me switch to Opera one after another, like flies falling under hard sun !

More and more firms sign with Opera, just wait Nokia with their new phone/PDA under Opera, and the world will definitively change !

Just keeps getting better!

Some nice enhancements in this version. Love the new Mail View button! That makes navigation easy without the Hotlist.

I also see we have a music panel comming in the final version. Because I cant leave well enough alone I enabled mine :up:

Many great fixes too! Well, I'm off to play like the child I am. Great work Opera team! Haavard, thanks for the link and info!

They also fixed my pet bug (random getElementById() failure) too! :hat: :D

Also looks like the famous bits-of-table-content-being chopped-off bugs are all gone too.

Nice work Opera! :cheers:

Znore,

Yes, they do work, but... Are they displayed correctly? That is - no frame lines on the menu entries?

I don't know if it's possible to specify your own bold menu items, but it might be related to that new M2 View-selection menu you just posted about! :smile:

If you have unread messages in any of the views, those menu items will show up in bold. :up:

Is there a way to put this new menu in M2 ( er, I mean when you click on received now and a menu pops up) as a button?

Edit: Wait, are you all refering to this "mail" button in the Customize toolbars.. window?

If this is indeed what you guys are refering to, is there a way to default it to the Received view instead of the Unread view?

You have a button that you can add from the customize dialog that will display the access points? :confused:

Here's what we're talking about Nant - it's available in any view, as what Opera have done is made the 'View name' title-text into a button.

Here's a screenshot of the new button in my Received view.

Thursday, 21. August 2003, 18:54:43

I figured that's what you were talking about... So again, is there a way to make this button that invokes that menu as a button on a bar?

is it possible to have italic, underlined, and colored text in menus? if not it may be useful to add support for these features.

I just installed the new beta and I can really notice a difference in the 'choppiness' of page loading ..Very impressive! Is this to do with the Smooth drawing of images enhancement?

it might be. do you notice any choppiness when scrolling? just so you know this feature was always set to off in earlier 7.2 betas.

edit: no one has mentioned that the horrible flash is gone between loading pages. the transition is just like in ie and moz. but i notice that reloading the page still causes the flash.

That's the new "Loading" effect under Preferences > Windows. It was in beta3 as an opera6.ini edit, now it is part of the UI and refined in performance.

Great job Opera.
Hmm on the other hand. I fell like this beta never crashes, however when it does crash I don't get an ispector IIXII window but a blue screen and I can't recover and have to reboot hmm. Is it something I ate.

VERY NICE! Opera browser is getting better and better. IPv6 support works nicely now, even using ipv6 IPs directly http://[2001:1234:5678::1]! :smile:

The "draw when loaded" feature is sooo nice too. Over all this release is a major improvement.

edit: hm.. the literal [2001:...] support seems odd. Works with some addresses and some not.. Maybe it is just me. Anyway, I am glad of the great improvements so far.

Thursday, 21. August 2003, 22:23:57

Yeah, this beta seems to be nice! But there is one question to OS: what is all that "bands new on-the-fly page loading engine", when the "loading" parameter is set to "redraw in 2 seconds"? You are giving up with your tricky features :smile:?

I had set the load time (or whatever) to 0 (which is now redraw instantly, I believe) in beta 3 and still had more of the chopping than with the new beta.. I'm thinking it is my combination of setting the delay time closer to the default (2 I think?) and the lessening of the page flashing, which tended to cause me to notice the redrawing of the page more than this new beta, due to it blazing bright white in front of me before moving things around ..now it has more of a 'clean' feeling to it ..very nice! Also I've noticed that with the removal of the flashing, the drawing of previously used images is done fairly fluidly, a lot less of that horrible white before drawing the exact same image again right on top ..MMMMM!!

I'm really loving it! :smile:

I installed in a new directory and Opera copied all my custom menu, mouse and toolbar .ini files over to the new profile directory for me automatically. Is this me, am I imagining this, or is this a new cool feature? I didn't have to do one thing to get all my previous customizations over to the new installed version.

None of those 7.20 Betas was able to display Flash. Already re-installed the Flash-PlugIn for Opera, but didn't help...
