Auto Page Refresher WIDGET
Can anybody make a widget which refreshes an opened webpage automatically after certain intervals (intervals which the user can set).I want a widget which functions exactly like the Check4Change Addon on Mozilla Firefox.
Check4Change - https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/3028

Widgets are not extensions... You can't do that with a widget...

it should refresh the page after regular intervals and also give a pop-up/alert (preferably audio) if any changes are found in the page...
like suppose i am keenly following a particular news, then it should refresh the news page and notify when a new news appears...
I hope u guys now got my point.

It's still not possible with a widget and may be only slightly possible with UserJS script....
It is possible to build a widget that downloads a page, refreshes it, records and displays the changes. But it can't play sounds. Of course, just for clarity, I won't try to make any widgets this or next year.

A general solution for this would be very difficult (if not impossible), many sites delivering updating content like this are very dynamic and may have many elements of the page that change with every refresh, how could the code know which specific changes are in your interest? The changes I'm talking about include:
- A display of the time/date
- Comments added to the page
- Ads changing on every refresh
- Random quotes in the header or elsewhere
etc.
