Good question smile Lack of "information literacy" is common problem. People just don't know what copyright means in practice. I searched forums and found a good comment by Jonimueller where she lists excellent information sources on this topic: Opera photoalbum policies. I also recommend to continue discussion over there if you have any more questions on this.

I would suggest a more fluid way to manage our files. Be able to delete more than one file at the time, move files from one directory to other, maybe a search feature.

Add select 'Scale image if larger than: 1280*1024 | 1024*768 | 800*600 | Keep original' also for mobile devices. I was disappointed to find out I can't keep the original image size when using Opera Mini to upload images to my photo albums.

The Speed Dial has been a very nice feature. However, when inserting new websites I guess most of us will directly copy and paste the address instead of selecting those suggested long list from opera. The problem is that every time I paste the address, opera will prompt for other suggestions related to my address. The list is long and results in mis-selection of these rubbish list. The auto-complete feature here is very annoying.

On a blog post reply, if you uncheck "Notify me if someone replies to this comment" and post, it'd be cool if it was then left unchecked by default for that blog post (so you don't have to keep unchecking it everytime you post or edit). Would be very useful when you're using feeds to monitor a post instead of email notification.

I think when you edit a reply and save, it still takes you back to the first page of the blog post. That's really annoying.

If a user uploads a image, and then decides to edit the image and re-upload it, the preview will show the "orignial" image un-modified, this is a really annoying problem of my.opera.com , if this is fixed it will really make my life and probably others who are having these problems lives easier

thank you

Server seems to update changes very slowly today. I tried to update my user css, but had to give up, because seeing the results took even over ten minutes.

EDIT: Sorry for being off-topic. However, I wish updates could take place much sooner in future. I have had a lot of troubles when trying to update my own pages and especially group blog on MyOpera. Sometimes I have to change something on 'Page configuration' page before changes take place. And changing avatar has been extremely slow for very long time.

It is great browser with lots of user friendly features that can hardly be ignored. Whats more, its features are amazingly original and it does not take a long time to open a website. I hope it will keep doing better in coming year.

It'd be nice if the atom feed markup for blog comments was improved so escaped markup isn't included in <title></title> That'd make things look much nicer in M2.

I realize that since there isn't a subject/title for each comment, the content of <title></title> is gotten from the comment's body. But, I find this annoying. I'd rather see a subject of just "User commented..." than a subject of

<a href="http://my.opera.com/comm...

in M2's message list. And, when reading a message in a new tab where you can see more of the markup in the subject, it's even more annoying.

At the least, what's inside <title></title> should be a fragment of the body's textContent, not a fraction of the body's markup.

If you look at my previous post right above, the partial markup that was shown was originaly outside of code tags, but was still properly-escape with HTML entities, so it should have been treated as text. But, it wasn't and hosed this whole thread. I had to delete my post to fix it.

There are all kinds of ways that escaped markup still gets treated as HTML on these forums. It gets quite annoying because the markup parser that's used on these forums is broken. That's why I'd love to have the forum just escape everything that I post so that everything is treated as plain text. The code to do it is way less complicated, which means way less to zero bugs.

just downloaded opera 10.10 on my mac book, during installation, i wasnt shown whether i wanted to import bookmarks from safari or firefox, so after installation i tried to import bookmarks from my firefox [file/import&export bookmarks/import from netscape+firefox], but it lead into "finder" - i think - to choose which folder my firefox bookmarks are stored...i dont know where these bookmarks are stored, as a regular user i dont need to know, so until now i can't import bookmarks...... heck, when i installed firefox, i just clicked import from safari and you're ready to go...

2nd.ly how do you un-delete bookmarks if you accidentally delete them... in "manage bookmark", if i right-click the bookmark/bookmark folder i want to undelete, there's no option to do so, nor when i click "file" on top of the screen.... this thing should be a very standard function... right-click you can delete, undelete, edit name, etc etc... this function is probably there, and if its there, it still isnt user-friendly 'coz it means we have to search for such a basic functionality...

or is there a bug in my opera ? all in all not a very good first impression....

I did not have time to read through all of the submitted feedback inputs, but I did see a few regarding turning Operamail into a serious e-mail client with calendar functionality. Syncing my contacts, calendar, etc. is important to me as I like to sync these items with my PDA (which is a lot easier to pack around than my laptop most of the time). The lack of a really good e-mail client and calendar system has kept Opera as a secondary browser for many years for me. I know I could use something else, but that defeats the purpose of a totally integrated package which I prefer. SeaMonkey does not appeal to me due to the lack of support (e.g. extensions and themes). Opera is the better browser in my opinion.

Thank you for your time and asking for our input.

Sorry if this has been mentioned before. (TL;DR)
To close the smiley selection box, you have to click the smiley button. This is kind of annoying, especially if you zoom the page, because the button disappears behind the selection. It'd be much better to be able to click anywhere outside the selection box to close it, as expected.
Also, on the forums front page, the "My friends' latest posts" box doesn't show quotes properly like the "Active forum topics" box does.
Speaking of the "Active forum topics", it would be nice if it only showed topics in your chosen language, or English + your language.
I should probably mention that I had some problems setting the language on this site permanently. Every time I changed it, it would reset after a few minutes. I managed to get it working by changing the language in my Opera browser preferences. That should work regardless of the browser setting.

That's all I can think of for now. Keep up the good work.

Uploading photos simply does not work. It has crashed my browser multiple times. Worst thing is, it works with FF, which I find rather embarrassing on Opera's behalf. Classic uploader works though, but that gets rather tedious.

I'd love to get some way of exporting images from my favourite image browse program, directly into MyOpera. A bit like you can do with Picasa. That way, the images can be auto scaled just prior to the upload process, saving lots of time. Another option is to integrate with Pixelpipe or similar service.

The bright white background color isn't all that comfortable to look at for long periods of time. Perhaps change it to something slightly darker? Or better yet, give us the ability to choose different colors.

Have the developers at Opera considered adding a share feature to the browser that would allow us to share web content on our My Opera profiles? I know, it's facebook-y. But I think it would be a good feature.

Hi,

I would really like to see the my.opera.com pages using https, or at least a ssl secured login. Until now I hesitate to use the blog or the online access to my Opera bookmarks (http://my.opera.com/camaxtli/account/link/bookmarks/ ).

I realize that Opera Link encrypts data while synchronizing. But if you have to access the bookmarks over the my.opera.com-Website this usually means that you don't have your own Opera version installed, e.g. at work. And exactly in these scenarios I would really appreciate https.

Same thing with the blog. What good is it, if I can't use it while using any public WLAN hotspot (cafe, hotel,...)? Some bad luck, and the guy next to me sniffs my my.opera-Password and can read all my bookmarks and notes, see my uploaded files/pictures,...

Hmm... split Subscriptions ( http://my.opera.com/community/forums/subscriptions.dml )into subpages. There is no way of automatic unsubscribing from threads and the list is prone to getting bigger (esp. if someone is active on the forum and want to keep track on ones discussions), which causes the page to load slooooowly.
At the moment my list is slowly reaching half thousands entries. :/

Preach! Been asking espen for this for ages... before the Unite section existed (and possibly before they started working on it). Maybe that's why it was a resourcing issue at the time. I wonder what the hold up is now.

Please add expire date for 'mobile' cookie and make it considerable long (till year 2036 or something). Some people want to select desktop site view on their mobile browser, and keep it that way, but for example on Opera Mini browser this 'mobile' cookie does not seem to stay selected between sessions. Instead the cookie get expired when the session on Opera Mini server become closed.

EDIT: There's also alternative option suggested on forums. Maybe this desktop/mobile site view could be changed into personal setting and that way user could choose to keep the current view permanently.

To expand on this. I think the webmail's IMAP server should forget about folders (besides Inbox where all messages would be) and make use of flags like \Draft for drafts, \Deleted for trash, the absense and presence of \Seen for unread and received, and IMAP keywords for other labels that you can apply to messages. This would fit really well with M2. Basically, do Gmail the right way with flags instead of copies in IMAP folders etc.
