My Opera feedback

Please let us know how to improve My Opera related to our <a href="http://my.opera.com/community/blog/2009/11/06/help-shape-the-future-of-my-opera">feedback post</a>!

A section in the profile would be nice where you can add you Playstation Network ID and your Xbox 360 gamer tag, maybe even a sidebar 'widget' with your xbox 360 achievements or something like that

Finally investigate and add proper RTL/BiDi support in language forums that need it (for example, the Hebrew forum) as well as to blogs, blog comments, etc etc...

It would be great if you would integrate operamail.com and make it into a serious email solution, integrate a calendar (that might someday be synchronized with Opera)

Add More Languages , As a Persian user I will be ready to do anything for the opera community .
If you have a project to add right to left languages , including persian ( farsi ) , many users from Iran might join the community .

A comments history would be great. The ability to get notified about new posts in instant messengers would also be great; it's a bit cumbersome to receive them by mail.

1. Ability to change the position of albums.
2. Sorting the images in the albums using mobile browser is very hard and sometimes the images get deleted while sorting.
2. Sticky posts shouldn't look different than the regular posts.

On the Community page (often the first thing people new to the OC see), there can sometimes be examples of ... non-family friendly pictures. I know these are quickly weeded out, but to prevent the necessity of that (on the Community page, at least), you could change it to Editor's Picks (at least on that first page), thus showcasing the best of OC pictures! Then, under the More Photos link, you could go to most popular, most recent, etc.

I would love to have some way to export my blog posts. Not necessarily to move my blog away, but to know that I COULD move if I wanted to. I'm kinda reluctant to write my entries here if I know that it'll cause me a lot of trouble to extract the postings afterwards if I want to have them on my own website, for example.

Two wishes for MyPage:
- A backup tool for blog entries and albums.
- A section to show and link the license of my content, like Flicker does.

Custom sidebar elements where we can add our own text or working HTML would be a beautiful addition.

Add the possibility to

• do the layout of your "about page" yourself: drag'n'drop the various sections of the page, just like on the Opera Portal.
• add personal albums to the album collection of a group, one is participating in

The ability to add our current polls, or photo slideshows from certain albums to our blog posts would be nice. Quite often something like that would come in handy for a post.

The MyOpera visitor counter in account should have some HTML code to let us add it wherever we want, or a sidebar element so we can display it on our pages somehow.

It'd be a great addition to allow us to reorder our sidebar elements. On a slightly related subject, how about having our blog content take up the entire area when all sidebar elements are turned off, rather than us having to code for that?

if a friend posts a new blog entry, I want it to be shown in the latest activity so I can notice
I want to comment on the whole photo albums
The blog design must be easier. I'm blind of coding.
I want the blog writer is easier to use like yahoo 360 before

Anything else is very good. I love my.opera

I think that integration with other networks would be nice. I am sure that some people already have their profiles and friends on Facebook, MySpace, Twiter, Flickr, ... I would like seeing an easy way to include my Flickr photos in myOpera photos profile, my twitter status in myOpera status box, add my external blog posts to myOpera blog posts, ...

From the mobile point of view, I would like seeing OperaMini and Opera Mobile taking advantage of things like Geoposition API, to update status (if I would like making my location public) or to upload geo-tagged photos from the mobile.

I would tagging my friends, photos, etc. Just to create my onw taxonomy.

Just some ideas

- More like Tweet or Facebook status post.
- More spotlighted item for forums/photo/groups on main page
- Groups section can be separate from the forums or can have new layout

I love my.opera now but new features are always welcome

I want My Opera to working with my domain, like:
- blog page: abc.com
- friends page: abc.com/friends
- ...

Wearing the My Opera user hat, here's some IMHO <a href="http://my.opera.com/365/forums/topic.dml?id=294577">nice feedback and ideas</a> on how to improve the photo albums on My Opera.

It's from many of the <a href="/365/albums">365 group</a> members.
I'm sure others will add other good ideas too.

There should be an option to upload & use custom banners right away, so that people who want custom banners can do it easily without the need to write all these codes, post the banner on a image hosting website, and then writing its hotlink in the codes.

The My Opera UserJS improvements should be added to the site.

Hrmm... maybe as an option (like on Wikipedia you can go to your settings and tick checkboxes for extra javascript features - but by default such things are disabled as not everyone likes javascript heavy sites)

Also, PLEASE re-open http://my.opera.com/community/customize/ to submissions other than skins and widgets and PROMOTE it.

Well... the first idea that come in my brain is that I would like to move the photos uploaded in myopera in the different photo albums that I can create, when I have to put some order. Now I can only delete and upload them again in the album that I want...
My English isn't very well, I'm sorry, but I hope that you can understand what I mean... maybe it is a stupid idea, but don't worry!

• Opera Link,
• Opera Unite,
• Opera Widgets,
• Opera Portal.

Have I cover all services? This is just silly! Please work on unified login.

UserJS section of the site. Similar or better than Opera Widgets or Opera Unite Applications. UserJS scripts can benefit many people, and that scripts as useful as widgets or Unite apps.

Manage searches via Opera Link pages, cancel a friend-add-request, login to one website and get logged in other Opera websites (example widgets.opera.com), create dsi.opera.com

I agree on every improvements in photo albums as already mentioned above;
more options in friends page as it was in the past (I mean the possibility to sort them by name, newest, updated status and so on);
a better favorites page when you can sort the thumbnails in every section as you want. And please, can we have the "add user as favorite" button in the about page??
That's the only things that come to my mind now... I'll think about something else next days!!

OK, since My Opera is mainly for Opera users, why not make a nice and usable customization section with setups, skins, buttons, etc.? Right now, the system is pretty lame. I can't even see the star rating of skins as I browse through, the setup section is dismal, and buttons and UserJS sections are nonexistent. If you want an example of a good browser customization site, visit that of your main competitors (hint: it is not IE, Safari, nor Google Chrome)

Another improvement will be to redesign My Opera messaging system. Right now I have ~300 messages that I do NOT want in OC mailbox, but there is no way I can delete them all at once. (Apparently, some dude was pressing "add as friend" button for many many times on my blog, most of the messages are notifications about him adding me as a friend.) Please, do something!!!

Finally, it will be VERY useful to make the bookmarks on Opera Link actually searchable. I have ~1000 bookmarks, and I do not always know which folder I store them in. If I wanted to access Opera Link via some other browser, it becomes really bothersome to look for any of my bookmarks, unless I know exactly where they are.

Speaking of Opera Link, it would be awesome to make bookmarking a social experience, a-la Delicious, but only for My Opera users. However, it is just an idea, I would prefer more if you fixed/implemented things I have mentioned above first

If possible, could you add some features:
- Drag & drop (position) element in the sidebar
- Design more layout
- Add my own domain name to blog
- Support OpenID for user comment
- Allow to delete multi posts/messages
- Use wysiwyg editor like FCKeditor or TinyMCE (BBCode is cool, but it's difficult for newbie)

Dude, you are lucky that you can use Opera Link at all. Opera Link failed to show my collection of 5384 bookmarks that stuffed inside 856 folders. It just throw Proxy error at me.
So, if I can wish here for Opera Link, I would wish it works for me.

I wish I had some definite suggestions for improvement to the OC but I must admit, I'm generally pleased. It works well for my purposes and with each new release things seem to get better (autosave, ). I will think on it more but...

My best suggestion is keep doing what you're doing. I like the small changes of improvement iterations.

Expand the blog design customization. I've seen people do amazing things with CSS, but I don't have those skills.

One things that currently disappoints me is that background images won't tile.

Provision to add Day Light Saving in the Time Zone setting in Edit Profiles page, please. See the topic, "UTC+13 Hours Time Zone" for the details.

I'd like a couple more privacy settings... like being able to set specific people as able to see a blog post only. As well as that, I'd like to see a "Delete all" function on the pms, and being able to send the same pm to multiple people.

• If the user does not have a blog the user should automatically be transfered to the about page.
• Have a form field under a message so you do not have to go to a new page. (You can quote certain parts better with this)
• Fix the voting system
• The experimental My Opera interface you posted on your blog Espen a month ago or so, it was nice.
• Eventual incentives for Opera Affiliates.
