How do i disable displaying real names in blogs and blog comments?
At some point last month I believe, blog comments started showing real names for me. How do I disable this? I want to see nicknames.Screenshot:

You can't change others but you can change yours (Use My Opera username as full name).
Anyway, consider posting feedback on that thread. I recommend to wish for same user/account name to be used everywhere: on forums, on blog comments, and on shoutboxes.
EDIT: Real name is no good because some people seem to leave it out completely and then you see anonymous postings at least on shoutbox.

. Many people in the community use the same nickname on other social networks as they do here. Myopera is breaking that link. I recognize some people on other networks due to their unique nicknames. I don't know and don't have the desire to know most of the people's names here. A nickname is sufficient for communicating on the internet.@staff: Can someone please tell me the goals and/or thought process behind this "feature"? How is showing real names enriching the community or our experience?

That will not resolve this for me. I would like to choose what I want to see on my computer screen. Putting someone else in control of what I see will not benefit me. Just like people can add signatures in the forum, but I believe I can choose to not view signatures. I'm in control of what I see in this instance. Why should this be different? Are you going to allow users to force people to view their signatures next? The plan is to let people choose whether they want to see the full name or just the username.

Full name & avatar can be changed to mislead users.

Then there's a problem of some people addressing their comment based on real name, and others based on username. For example someone on forum could write something like this:
@ Phred - Thanks for posting feedback on this
Then Fearphage may recognize being addressed by that comment but others on forum may wonder: "Who the heck is Phred?"

It is difficult to associate & remember username and full name because full name is shown everywhere except forums where username is shown.
Exactly! Therefore I would also go for usernames only, because they are unique.

Why Open the Web?
Despite the connecting purpose of the Web, it is not entirely open to all of its users. When used correctly, HTML documents can be displayed across platforms and devices. However, many devices are excluded access to Web content.

I second that notion.

We didn't ignore it, it just took some time to get the next stage right.

@ Aleksander: Two questions, if I may:
1. I didn't say Admin. I said tumbleweeds and crickets. Which are you?

2. whadjoodoowit my popcorn?
