both 7.23 and 7.50 show this with opera -debugplugin
opera: [plugin probing] /usr/lib/opera/plugins/libnpp.so
opera: [plugin probing] /usr/lib/opera/plugins/libflashplayer.so
opera: [plugin probing] /usr/lib/netscape/plugins/rpnp.so
opera: [plugin banned ] /usr/lib/netscape/plugins/libnullplugin.so
opera: [plugin probing] /usr/lib/netscape/plugins/libflashplayer.so
opera: [plugin probing] /usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so
opera: [plugin probing] /usr/lib/RealPlayer8/rpnp.so
opera: [plugin probing] /usr/local/netscape/plugins/libflashplayer.so
opera: [plugin probing] /usr/lib/opera/plugins/libnpp.so
opera: [plugin probing] /usr/lib/opera/plugins/libflashplayer.so
opera: [plugin probing] /usr/local/Acrobat5/Browsers/intellinux/nppdf.so
Ive tried the link of operamotifwrapper like this
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 19 Feb 13 12:56 operamotifwrapper -> operamotifwrapper-3
the Flash files are in /usr/lib/flash-plugin/libflashplayer.so
the rest are links to that folder like /usr/lib/opera/plugins/libflashplayer.so
Ive also tried copying the Flash files to the Opera plugin folder with no success
(ie no links but real files)
Everything works on Mozilla 1.6

now that you mention it.....the problem is solved
rwf, thanks so much ...it looks like I went only halfway and didnt copy operamotifwrapper-3 to operamotifwrapper-2, once i did that (per the instructions in the link you forwarded ) Flash worked perfectly.
for others here is the pertinent info once again from the link
++++++++
if you're running RedHat 9.0, you should have file:
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXm.so.3
and not
/usr/X11R6/lib/libXm.so.2
If this is the case,
run:
opera --debugplugin
from the command line as normal user.
Visit web site with a flash movie, e.g.:
[url]http://www.homestarrunner.com/
If you get error:
/usr/lib/opera/plugins/operamotifwrapper-2: error while loading shared libraries: libXm.so.2: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory
do this as root:
cp /usr/lib/opera/plugins/operamotifwrapper-2 /tmp
cp /usr/lib/opera/plugins/operamotifwrapper-3 /usr/lib/opera/plugins/operamotifwrapper-2
Now load a page containing Flash. E.g.:
[url]http://www.homestarrunner.com/
If this doesn't solve the problem, you still have the file operamotifwrapper-2 in /tmp for restore.
