Before asking a question: PLEASE READ THIS!

To make this a more pleasant experience to everyone, there are a few things to bear in mind before and when asking a question. If you follow these guidelines, people will be able to help you better.

1. Before posting questions

Try to search for the answer first:
- Our knowledge base
- My Opera forum search

2. When posting a question

Use a descriptive subject:
- Try to create a brief summary of the problem
- "I have a problem" is a bad subject. It says nothing about the problem at all

Provide us with basic information which you will probably be asked for anyway:
- Opera version (and build number if possible) - see "Help/About Opera"
- Package downloaded: Dynamic (shared) or static Qt?
- Which Linux distribution/version are you using?

If you have a problem with a Web site, provide us with a specific sample URL if possible, or a detailed description on how to find the page and what the exact problem is.

When describing a problem, provide us with detailed instructions on how to reproduce it, if possible.

Are you using the dynamic version of Opera and having problem? Try the static version instead.

Remember that most people here are regular Opera users, like you, and that they are willing to help if you are willing to make a small effort to make it easier for everyone to help you.

If people have to answer the same questions again and again when the answer is easily available, they will get frustrated. If people have to ask everyone for basic information about their system and what the exact problem is, they will also get frustrated. Please help us and your fellow Opera users to help you!

Good luck smile
