is there an "Always open in new tab" option?

So i am a long time Omniweb user ( im a Mac guy). Anyway I'm wanting to try Opera as I'm interested in some of the Opera Unite features.

However there may be a deal killer for me as I dont see a way to

1. force popups in a new tab rather than new window
2. when another app tries to open a browser window in a new tab (like when an adobe program opens a html help doc).
3. links to other sites in new tab. example: any link i click on from a google search opens a new tab retaining my search in the original tab

basically i can surf all day in omniweb with one window open and can't deal with it any other way . i'm spoiled i know.

so is there a way to do this that i am not seeing?

thanks

never used opera on a mac, not sure if there are differences in the tab handling on linux or windows.

check these two options:

preferences>advanced>tabs>additional tab options --->open windows instead tabs

and

preferences>advanced>tabs --->reuse current tab
