Problem with absolutely positioned object and Opera selecting text behind the object
If you have an absolutely positioned div above text, clicking and dragging within the absolutely positioned div will select the text behind the div in Opera 10.51 (Build 3315): Example. This behaviour is different to IE 7, IE 8, FF 3.6.2, Arora 0.10.0, Chrome 4.1.249.1042 (42199).When you click and drag inside a flash object that has been absolutely positioned above text, this causes a problem as the flash object is selected/highlighted: Example.
Is this a bug with Opera? Or can anyone suggest how I could code my site to allow a Flash object positioned above text but without the highlight problem?
Thanks
Dave
Can confirm the issue.
Ability to highlight any object is new for Opera 10.5. Previous versions allowed to select only text.
Not sure that selecting Flash object is a good idea, since user can't copy it anyway. BTW, Java is not selectable.
