Text Entry Boxes in Opera Mini ver. 5.0.18832 not keeping text (facebook)

Am I doing something wrong? When I am on Facebook mobile I click in an add comment box, start typing, hit the touchpad to get out of the comment box which causes facebook to reload and sometimes the text doesn't make it through so I can hit submit.

I can't reproduce it with confidence but I have begun to narrow it down to it happening more often when I enter large amount of text.

It's an old server bug.

Same problem here and it's reaching the point of frustration. I am a regular forum participant and posting comments is a nightmare with this Opera Mini. If it is server issue why I don't have this problem with v 4.2?

Many have adopted the habit of copying the before pressing Select. Not the ultimate solution but it will at least allow you to paste it back if you lose it.

I can't run Java apps here, so I wish there were a native WM version of Mini 4.2, since so many people seem to prefer it to 5.

Yes, the text input problem is frustrating me, too, and I'm posting this from UCWEB 7 at the moment. In fact, many of my posts here were submitted from an alternate browser, and I even had to do that for the bug report wizard.

It's a real headache, but I'm sure the developers feel just as frustrated, since they can't seem to fix it.

You can see JBED rose for running j2me apps on WM.

Thanks for the suggestion. I actually tried a JVM on this device; not JBED, but a freeware one whose name I've forgotten. It ran a sample app that came in the package, but gave me nothing but error messages when I tried to run Opera Mini 4.2. What made it worse is that I had no understanding at all of the technical terms used in the messages and menus, much less the desire to learn them.

Think I'll wait for the final release of Mini 5's native WM version. Perhaps by then the text problems will have been solved (for you Java users, as well). wink

Another thing I notice different with v 5 is that whenever I write something in webpage's input box such as login id or forum postings, the page always reloads itself and that's when I lost whatever I input. It's the same problem that has been making Bolt browser - despite good layout- frustatingly unreliable.

Previous page is cached now but it seems that post reply box is preferable now instead quote one.

Any solution to this yet?

It still does it on the final Opera Mini 5 as well.

I am using Blackberry Curve 8330 (OS 4.5) on the Sprint network.

Thanks!

This doesn't work all the time but it does most of the time: After pushing 'share' let the loading bar do its thing for a couple of seconds than hit stop (do it before the next page is loaded. Sometimes that sets the text in. Push 'share' again and it should go thru.

This problem's been happening a lot less (for me) just recently....Although it does still occur every now and then. I've not had an opera upgrade, though, as far as i know.
