Tab Close X issue in 3338?

I know, but just bear with me...

I like the MDI close X in the top right.

My solution with 10.5x is to put an X button at the right-most end (which Opera call the tail) of the tab bar, so it stays there, rather than moves around as the number of tabs varies.

In 10.52/3333 I did this with drag and drop (see assorted posts by me) to the tail of the tab toolbar.

When I tried it in 10.52/3338 I just get an error and can only drag it into its own Tab (like the + icon, so moves left-right with the number of tabs).

The good news it the functionality is still there, as I can hack it into the standard_toolbar.ini as follows:
[Pagebar Tail.content]
Button0, "Close"="Close page, , , "Close", "Caption Close""

But is it just me or is drag-and-drop to the tab bar tail (i.e. the rightmost end) broken in 3338? Ah, hang on, I can add a second one once I have the first one at the tail, just can't add one if I don't have any. This probably explains why I can drag it into the address bar tail.

As I've suggested this to a lot of people it would be good to know.

Thanks
John
P.S. Apologies for not calling the topic "Possible Tab Toolbar tail drag-and-drop issue in 3338" but if there is a problem I wanted to point it out to the people likely to be using it, which is the MDI Close (etc.) folks. For the same reason I posted it here rather than elsewhere, as this forum tends to be where all the "where did my close tab button go" posts end up...

Supposedly it's back in 10.52 3344 snapshot:

Fixed DSK-276458 (No close button if "show close button on each tab" is unticked)

Works for me in Windows, but in Linux it doesn't seem to.
