10.52/3344 crashes every time on closing

XP/SP3. Windows Classic install. Opened 3344 three times to http://www.yahoo.com. Closed 3344 three times from that page. After a few second delay, got crash box all three times. Sent report. A number of us had the same problem closing from Yahoo with an earlier edition or two. DSK-292268. 3338 works fine so far.

It does not appear to have any connection to specific sites.

Mine will crash upon closing last opened window everytime.

No testing on this build (LOL).

To verify your claim, I have opened www.yahoo.com on build 3344 and the yahoo webpage opened normal. No crashes whatsoever.

In my example

1) allow empty work space
2) open any speed dial link
3) close lone open tab (must be only opened window/tab)
4) CRASH

BTW- was a regression from 3338.

Read the OP and follow ups. The problem is on closing Opera, not opening!

you have a problem closing opera. i have a crash closing A TAB in opera. any tab. doesn't matter. see the sticky for this latest build and see if you can reproduce.

needless to say, i went straight back to 10.2.

and by the way, why did opera pull 10.2? it's their latest stable alpha/beta they have released?

Crash here whenever I close a tab in the newest build, tried installing 10.51 over but problem remains.

Going to have to use an alternative browser for at least a while now.

Then you did something wrong. Reinstall any of the other builds and this particular issue will go away. 3338 still crashes frequently, but not do to THIS bug.

Thanks - a version check showed that reinstalling 10.51 didn't actually do anything. It didn't ask me where to install, and 10.52 was still installed afterwards, no idea why. Downloaded the classic installer instead, pointed at my Opera folder, and it now works again...

yep 10.20 is the best smile if u want unite
currently sticking with 10.01 4 stable version, no unite

here are some of my bugs / features with 10.52
http://my.opera.com/g4qb/blog/

can't wait till they finalise 10.20

closing of tabs in 10.5x slow
eg.
0. 9.2 keyboard s'cuts
1. ctrl-T x 10
2. ctrl-alt-w

& now more macOS X like.
*** DSK-282305 - close all tabs in new window - mac OSX like
0. use <9.2 opera compatible> keyboard setup
1. ctrl-N
2. Ctrl-T x5
3. ctrl-alt-W
4. closes all windows

10.20 keeps 2nd instance of opera running.

BTW u hv an extra "." in your URL
tried ctrl-clicking on link & got
"Your requested URL was not found."
since site = http://www.yahoo.com./

crash on any tab closing
win 7 x64
the only way that let me roll back to previous build is to delete opera.dll first, as the setup don't replace this with a previous version one , even the stable 10.51 setup won't

Thanks for pasting the info. The suggestion worked just fine (Linux Ubuntu 9.10 here). Note that the culprit is the address bar, not the tab bar, which was customised in my case. So it seems yo will only be affected it you are upgrading rfom an older version / built and have customised your address bar

Fresh installs do not seem to be affected!

Cheers!

What if one doesn't use an address bar?

Try reactivating your address bar. If it doesn't crash after that, you're good. If it still crashes, then reset the address bar as indicated and it should stop crashing. Then you can try de-activating the address bar again.
If it works, then the customisation was the problem but if it keeps crashing after you de-activate that address bar, then you will have to put up with it until the issue is fixed.

Crash on closing seems to be fixed with 3347.

Now, hoping some attention goes to 1) the bug that prevents sites from opening from email links when Opera is closed (DSK-282619); and 2) the change (bug?) that occurs using external bookmarks with Opera minimized, such that Opera does not open (maximize) on screen but only the tab flashes orange (DSK-292731); and 3) the search field going edge to edge (DSK-284742).
