I am not sure I understand you right:
A bookmark icon is placed by the webmaster of a site, that's not something you can do.
The folder images depend on the skin, but I don't think you can choose them unless you make your own skin.

+1 For those of us who keep and manage lots of bookmarks that would be good.
I use separators a lot to divide up long lists of bookmarks into categories. This saves me using a folder to do so, as, if something is in a folder it is hidded and the "browse" effect is not possible. So I'd like to name or Icon a separator too.
