33 new features
Indicating of bookmarked pageWhen I see some page on the net I can't remember, whether have already bookmarked it or not. To be sure I'd like to see an icon at the end of address bar, meaning this page is already bookmarked. Or, conversely, for more convenience, show this icon if page is not present in bookmarks. This way very handy to bookmark the page by clicking on icon.
Off-line archive
Very handy tool that give the ability to save any web page from the net for off-line access. This means an off-line organizer, archive or something like that. I'm using MetaProducts Inquiry now, and it's very useful despite the fact I have to copy and paste web-address each time I want to grab anything. Features: save page from context-menu, search local pages, save the selected fragment, save only text(+images +scripts), tags for search, custom title, special quick button, categories, search-on-type (in categories), autosaving, auto-grab icons, delete some elements from already downloaded page (by clicking on them).
Maybe useful to add full-site grabbing (parser). Definable level of grabbing, start page, file types to safe, execute scripts, and so on...
Built-in full-featured download manager
It should be like the best other separate programs. Multy-threaded download, stack of current downloads, floating transparent mini-window, download multiple files from one page by single click (downloading by mask), different folders for different file types, torrent full info (like in uTorrent - seeds, lechers, chart of bits, % downloaded, stop, pause, recheck torrent, ability to give away, net stat, and so on).
Ability to resume any download. And if I download new file - the ability to point the same file on disk, that was stopped before finish (by any other download manager), so Opera can download only missing part of file.
Google Translate button for whole page or selected fragment. Ability to choose an another service.
Ability to save notes all at once. By now I have to save them individually when I'm reinstalling Windows.
Good Password Manager. Now it has minimal functionality. Firstly, I do NOT want to press submit button automatically, because there is a captcha on many sites around, and when I'm clicking Magic Wand, it submits an old captcha with the login and password, so I receive a wrong captcha notification. Secondly, I would to fully control every record on the passw database, i. e. assigning passwords, correct number of fields in one record and change them as I need, turn off or on the auto-submit feature (so, when I'm just opening defined page, Opera auto-submit all fields and press submit button) - individually for each site. Thirdly, I would to handle several profiles for some sites, i. e. I have 4 mailboxes. Fourthly, the database should be encrypted with a strong modern algorithm. Probably, Opera can give users the ability to choose an algorithm (as in Password Commander).
Floating panels within Opera with custom buttons. Transparent amount.
Button with smoothly flyout panel.
Search field in the html code view. Now I'm using Ctrl+F, but there is a space at the top-bar. Moreover, when Find window is open, scrolling is too slow. Search-on-type.
Context-menu ability to know size of the file without downloading
Ability to move selected text by mouse without copying of it (in text areas)
Ability to go to web-address by clicking on a segment of address in address-bar (Vista explorer like). Option with holding Ctrl or other key.
Sometimes, the address is too long and I see only end of it. I think it is better to display the address from the beginning, and show pop-up with full address when user's mouse hover over address-bar. And segment-clicking feature (previous) should be also available for pop-up.
Auto-stop any media-files on page load. And download the media only when I press play button. Ability to download as media-file also.
RSS-agregator, Google Reader functionality.
Anti-Boss key may be usefull

Ability to go to another page without to waiting wile this page is fully load. I.e., When I open some page it appears part-by-part: text, links, images, and so on. Here I see a desirable link and click it, but Opera downloads the page, and only when download is finished, begins downloading the new page, to where point clicked link. So, I have to abort downloading by X bttn and then press ling next time.
Ability to select and copy to win buffer not only text, but images also, or the whole code. Ability to select this option (text, +images, as web-page).
Ability to choose custom images for speed-dial cells. Transparency... And custom title.
Save favicons with bookmarks. Now when I reinstall Opera and import saved bookmarks they all without their icons.
Save-export bookmarks, passwords, options, interface (buttons, menus), notes, RSS, history, speed dial, widgets, history of downloads(non-ended also), sessions, mail, cookie with ONE single command to One archive. And back, import the same way.
Links on the personal panel separated, independent from bookmarks.
Assigning hot keys to bookmarks.
Quick roll-back to previous version of Opera. Quick reset all options also.
Multy-level speed-dial - clicking on one cell brings new cells, that belongs to it.
Customizable context-menu. For third-party programs.
Cache-viewer with preview, ability to delete each file separately, search for files, filter of view by file type, web-site, size...
Notes on web-pages ( like MyStickies in FF)
Coloring group of hierarchical tabs (http://img2.pict.com/a2/9d/d5/1224444/0/tabs.png) When I choose color for one of the grouped tabs, others are also recoloring.
Function "total refresh" - refresh the page without using cache
Ability to hide and rename tabs.
Indicator of target=blank link near the mouse
Pictogram of link type (when hover) - rar, zip, exe, https, video, audio, image, doc, pdf, txt,...

I believe, modern browser is not only a program for viewing pages, but a whole system for all the internet-needs.
if opera will have all this features i think it takes ages to load.............
- Indication of bookmarked page -- +5
- Offline archive -- +5 -- although the .mht format "Save As" can already fulfill a good part of it.
- Total refresh
You should learn to seach the forums and use Opera better though -- several of the wishes you indicate can already be carried out to a functional level with some User Javascript, such as "indicator of target=blank", "click on segment of address = go to address", just to mention a few I have already enabled in my Opera install. Others like the rich format copy and the better password manager have been asked for so many times already that I'm surprised the mods don't just stick warnings or close threads that reask them again (or, if I do, I haven't noticed, maybe because they do).

Opera can adapt to the world, but that should not be at the cost of making any of them both stupider

Off-line archive (something like scrapbook)+1
- "Google Translate" - Can be done whit a button or userscript (eg Translate)
- "Ability to save notes all at once "- simply copy the notes.adr file or even better move the profile folder to a different drive.
- "Ability to select and copy to win buffer not only text, but images also, or the whole code. Ability to select this option (text, +images, as web-page)" - you can do that(and many more) in the designer mode. Design Mode(more html-editing-toolbar) I like it that way because i have control over it.
- "Save favicons with bookmarks. Now when I reinstall Opera and import saved bookmarks they all without their icons" - see my comment about the notes.
- "Customizable context-menu. For third-party programs" - menus in opera are customizable(normal programmer can do it easily from an external app; well not from a web app
) - "Function "total refresh" - refresh the page without using cache" - thats how its done in the new versions
- "Pictogram of link type (when hover) - rar, zip, exe, https, video, audio, image, doc, pdf, txt" - can be don with userstyles or userscripts
What about segment address - I've used this feature, but address shown at the top of window and cover the site menu in most cases (i. e. rutracker.org)
Many features can be implemented with addons, but I believe that some useful features shoud be added to original package. It is a whole work to find, and trying to install them. And with every new installation after system crash (minimum once a year) I should do the work. I wish simply run a single package and here is it - Opera is ready for use.
To artmil:
- "Ability to save notes all at once "- simply copy the notes.adr file or even better move the profile folder to a different drive.
I mean, to export all notes in other text redactor (outliner, in my case). I collect funny signs on forums

- "Google Translate" - Can be done whit a button or userscript
Yes, I know, but this useful feature should be in the base package, imho
- "Ability to select and copy to win buffer not only text, but images also, or the whole code. Ability to select this option (text, +images, as web-page)" - you can do that(and many more) in the designer mode. Design Mode(more

Hmmm... Thanks, I have not known of this...
- "Save favicons with bookmarks. Now when I reinstall Opera and import saved bookmarks they all without their icons" - see my comment about the notes.
Yeah... It's all about usability...
- "Customizable context-menu. For third-party programs" - menus in opera are customizable(normal programmer can do it easily from an external app; well not from a web app )
Well, I'm not a programmer.... For those who are afraid of memory consumption I have the following speculations:
- buttons and functions on-demand does not affect a memory, so download manager will eat mem if somethink is downloading;
- some of non-used features can be turned off by user;
- and finally, if Opera team made such a fast browser with many built-in functions, I can suppose they are able to make other functions stable and fast...
also these requests are reposts (and I only count those where I am sure): 1, 3, 4, 6, 7, 9, 12, 14, 18, 19, 20, 21, 25, 26, 28, 29
and these are already there: 15, 16, 23, 27 (in 10.5+), 30, 32 & 33 (through UserJS)

Just make a copy of the notes.adr file from your Opera directory. That contains all your notes, and you can even open it in Notepad and read them as plain text (with some weird formatting).

I agree with this completely. One workaround for the auto-submitting is to hit the escape key as soon as you use the Wand. In my experience that's fast enough to stop the site loading before the password is submitted, allowing you to enter the captcha before you login.

Opera already has that in a way. You can minimise Opera to the system tray, and you can always set that to always hide Opera's icon.
The default keyboard shortcut for hiding Opera is ctrl+alt+shift+h, but you can change that in keyboard preferences.

Being able to copy HTML-formatted material from a Web site would be really useful in my work. I clicked on the Design mode link you gave and added the Design mode button to my toolbar. But when I clicked on this button while viewing a Web page, I got an error message: "The URL http://(function(){document.designMode=(document.designMode=='on')?'off':'on'})() contains characters that are not valid in the location they are found."
I'm still using Opera 9.64 (under WinXP). Do I need to upgrade (at last) to v. 10.5x for Design mode to work? And if I can get into Design mode while viewing a Web page, will I be able to copy its contents with HTML formatting intact?
Thanks!

I don't recall if it was implemented in 9.6x or not, but it most definitely is in 10, anyway. Also see your topic where I posted another way to do roughly the same thing.
I have tested the button before adding... it seems that the forum removes the "javascript:" code.
Never mind here's a working button
