@pesala huh ??
opera:config#Colors|HighlightedBackground & opera:config#Colors|HighlightedBackgroundUnfocused does not affect search highlight in edit fields at all
opera:config#UserPrefs|DimSearchOpacity is not used with source code
does it work for you ?
I have both HighlightedBackground & HighlightedBackgroundUnfocused yellow(#ffff00 & #ff9900 ) and search inside editboxes like "Quick reply" on this page is still gray.
When I search in source code tab I do not get dim gray effect at all. So i didn't even bothered to try changing that one.
Opera 10.52 (3344) Fresh Install from yesterday.

I missed that bit of the original post — it affects the green and yellow highlighting on the page, not in edit boxes.
Someone else posted about the DimSearchOpacity so I was just passing that on. I am not able to test it here as I have different colours in source code to the default, and don't experience this problem to the same extent.
