Dragon NaturallySpeaking 10.10 and Opera 10.51
I have been using the voice activation program, Dragon Naturally Speaking, with the latest version of Opera, and I did want to say that it is working very well. I have a Windows 7, 64 bit computer. To make this voice activation program work with Opera, it does help to know keyboard shortcuts. Other than that, it is very easy to use Dragon with Opera. For example, one searches for links to open in Opera by saying, "press comma'"' and that opens the search box. Then just pick a word or two from the link you want to open, and it will be highlighted. Then just say '"press enter'" to open the link. To get to the address bar, i just say, 'press f8. That i say what the address is that I want searched for from the address bar -- for example cnn.com. I have a speed dial, and i just say, press control 1 (or the number on the dial) to open the link on the speed dial. As for typing mail, Dragon handles dictation of mail very well in the M2 compose panel. If you have a problem with it, just open a Dictation Box (Show dictation Box) or Dragon Pad (start Dragon Pad), and dictate your letter in the box or pad, and then copy it to the Opera compose panel. It may take a little practice to get the hang of this, but Dragon NaturallySpeaking works very efficiently with the Opera browser and mail program. Yes, Dragon works better with IE 8, but it works pleasingly and acceptably with Opera.
