type MIME

hello I click on a bond in a forum to download a filemaker file (like this : http://www.fmsource.com/topic/42518-cadre-homogene-dans-commande/page__view__findpost__p__200598; inscription necessary to download) ) and opera
post a dialogue's window and proposes to me to record it, but with the format zip.
even after research on the french forum
I looked at that http://help.opera.com/Windows/10.01/fr/downloads.html
and creates in the preferences a new type MIME: appllication/fp7 fp7 to record on the disc…
...but it does not go.
which is the procedure or syntax to be used, to be able to associate easily/simply types of files with
their application ?

(i'm french and sorry for my poor "google's" english chef )

You have to be a member to download the files there, so I can't try it myself, but generally speaking ...

Opera will try to rename files according to the MIME type that the server sets for that file. If Opera is changing the name to *.zip, then that means their server is telling Opera the file is one of the types identified as having a zip extension. I'm not sure which one in that I see two listed (under Preferences > Advanced > Downloads) and possibly you have some I don't, but creating your own MIME type won't help in that the file already has a MIME type.

The two types I see are "application/zip" and "application/x-zip-compressed", you can uncheck "Hide file types opened with Opera" (or whatever that is in French) and search for zip in the extensions to see if you have any others.

Now ... Opera will rename files according to the MIME type unless the extension you want is listed for that type, so if you really want to fix this (and can't get them to change their server) then the thing to do is add the extension yourself to whatever type they are using. There are webtools out there which will tell you this, but I don't have any bookmarked - you might just add it for all the zip types and not worry about which specific one they are using. Just select the type to change and click Edit, then add a comma and your new extension (and click OK) and it should work.
