Opera 10.51 file association is broken ??
Windows 7 Home Premium, Opera 10.51I have NewsReactor installed so that NZB files are associated in Windows to open with NewsReactor when they are double clicked.
On all my other computers with Opera (Windows XP, and probably older Opera versions.) when I click a link for an NZB file I'm given the option to OPEN or SAVE. Of course OPEN will lauch the file with NewsReactor. I didnt have to set anything up it has always worked this way.
With my new Windows 7 pc and a new install of Opera 10.51 (no other operas have been installed previously on this pc) when I click a NZB file I'm given the option to OPEN or SAVE, but OPEN wants to just open the program files folder. I have to search through the directories to file the newsreactor folder and select newsreator.exe. As I said NZB files are correctly associated with NewsReactor. If I save a NZB file I can double click it and NewsReactor is launched.
How can this be fixed? It doesn't make sense that Opera wont open a file type with the same association as windows. Also, I dont want to configure Opera to always open the file type I do want the option to chose OPEN or SAVE.
I've been an Opera user for many years and I love it. However the newer versions are starting to bug me, like in Windows 7 the Opera on the start menu that shows your recently visited web sites.... who thought of that? I dont want someone to click START and immediately be able to see my last 3 visited web pages. How Can it be stopped from doing that?
Anyway the file association thing will decide weather I can use Opera for everyday use or not. Thanks!
