W7 Taskbar Thumbnails Behavior

'It's redundant to have both left clicking and hovering over the taskbar icon open the thumbnail previews, and it's not the behavior I expect. IMO, we should at least have this option: Left click opens the window with current tab on top just like pre-10.50. Hovering opens thumbnail previews or the list of tabs. Right now I just have thumbnails disabled, but I'd like to have them there when I hover.

that's windows 7 behavior and not too much controllable by the app.

Opera shouldn't enable Windows 7 integrated thumbnails at all. They are in fact completely useless, and just utterly annoying eyecandy.
They should be removed, all they introduce is an extra click. You also have to look closely for the active tab to click in order to re open the Opera window with the users last tab.

Give me ONE good reason to enable this feature, one reason! p

Ontopic: +1

You can also Ctrl + click, but I prefer to use my left hand for supporting my head in late night browsing sessions, not doing some lame ass key combination. :S

Opera should integrate with the OS it's running on best it can. If you don't like it, change your Windows settings or your OS (hint: Ubuntu 10.04 is coming).

Unfortunately, this can't be changed with a Windows setting. Perhaps a setting in Opera itself would be the best way forward? So the default is the Windows 7 way, and the option allows you to turn it off.

It's really annoying when you have 20 tabs open and you have to carefully look through the list just to find the one you were using 10 seconds ago when you minimised.

I think that when you set it to display icon + text as opposed to just icon you can just click on it and it maximizes back. Anyway, you can also turn it off inside Opera methinks, but since I don't use Windows 7 I wouldn't know which setting.

Ah, simply searching for windows in opera:config would've come up with the relevant setting. Makes sense. p

I agree with you, OS integration is pretty sweet, and yes, I have turned the Windows 7 thumbnails off.

Here's a question: In which way does the Windows 7 tab preview improve efficiency? What advantages does it introduce?
I see none when it comes to the tab previews, as you have the tabs in the browser.

Edit: Why doesn't anyone answer? Is it becuse I have appeared as a douchebag, or is it because Win7 tab previews is useless? D:

Actually you can select option "never combine taskbar buttons". Then when you click opera button on taskbar then opera will be activated instead of showing list of tabs.
