Opera for Nokia N900/Maemo/MeeGo

Any chance guys? bigsmile

As Maemo is about to be superseded by MeeGo pretty soon, maybe that could be the way to go. I loved Opera on my N95-8GB. So quick and used only half of the data allowance as other browsers.
I've just upgraded to the N900 and think it's an amazing device and love it, although it is pretty quick on the web via it's default browser and Firefox it still uses up a lot of data. Opera would be the saving grace, because Firefox is so damn quirky I just can't get on with it.

cheers

I too would like a version of Opera Mini 5 for the Nokia N900. I used it extensively on the N97 and converted many friends to its use. It is available for the iPhone now which proves (a) what Apple think of it and (b) that there is a growing demand for it. I gather that the reason it is not available on the N900 is because its OS, Maemo 5, does not support java apps. However, this is a Linux based OS so surely there must be a way of installing a JRE on it so that java-based apps like Opera will run.

Does "Opera" consult these forums and ever respond to them?
