some comments on 10.51
I hope this is the correct place to leave some comments.Opera 10.50/51 have great changes on menu bar and screen manipulation, however not all are prefect.
1: shortcut navigation. the reason alt+f and so for is to maintain a single left hand can is able to open main tab. Although opera replaced with pure alt only, the problem in p(page) and internal menu like i(image) is too far compare to previous alt f(file) or alt v(view)
2: speed. This version did slows down opera, it is easily noticeable when using low speed computer (P4/Atom) or using flash(on fast com)
3: opera turbo. I am not able to use since opera 10.50 launch (was fine in 10.10). Maybe is my isp issue.
that's all for now as I only use a small portion of opera (mail/news/web).
No reason you can't add your own shortcuts. If you define Alt-F (entered in the shortcut editor as "f alt") to be Show popup menu, "Browser File menu" then Alt-F will display the File menu whether or not the menu bar is enabled.
In principle Opera 10.51 is faster, but it has trouble with a few network configurations. 10.52 (when it's ready) should fix those issues and you should be back to Opera's normal blazing speed then. In fact, if I were in your circumstance I might install the latest preview of 10.52 (available from the Desktop Team blog). We normally don't recommend previews, but if you're having so much trouble with 10.51 then I wouldn't say that you have anything to lose. (By default previews install to a different folder than stable builds, so that you could try it without overwriting your installed version, but if you do that it also won't pick up your old settings so maybe you want to tell it to install over your existing version.)
No idea about Turbo, might be related to your second issue, as I don't use Turbo and don't have the network problems with 10.51 I really can't say if anything has changed there.
